THE FOOD IS O.K., BUT THE BAKLAVA IS AWFUL ====================================== My husband and I stopped in for lunch on Monday, April 1, 2024, and apparently the joke was on us. We had been there before and I liked the falafel dish the first time, but I'd never order the chicken shawarma sandwich again. It was nothing like the photo and was not cut up. Just one long overly soggy sandwich. My husband liked his gyro sandwich. The big mistake was ordering the baklava. It was old and not edible. We told the manager who did nothing to rectify the situation. He did not offer a refund or anything for the bad baklava that we returned.

Yum ! Ok I cannot leave that short a review and expect you to feel the experience. Love the vibe at Salt City, the comfy rocking soft seats by the window, the curvy metal chairs that are way more comfy than they look, the fun upward seating with pillows, the market that has way better drinks than your average soda and healthy ones too, the many options for food which I find so difficult to choose from as I am finding each to be as good as it smells and looks. So today we chose Baghdad both getting the beef shawarma with rice and salad. For a slight upcharge I went with tabouleh for my salad as it is a favorite of mine and it was the best I have had with the mint popping through the tart lemon dressing over just the right amount of tomato and bulgar. The shawarma was many thin slices of seasoned beef over the tender bed of rice drizzled with sauce. A side of tzatziki added because it's so good of course. We picked up drinks at the market topping off our mid afternoon Linner with leftovers to go and no room for dessert this time. The staff were warm and friendly. We will definitely be back to try other dishes and other spots.

OMG the Iraqi taco is sooooo delicious!! It's like a taco salad, in a really yummy taco shell, veggies, choice of meat or falafel, and sauces. Yum!!!!

Based on reviews my husband and I decided to give this place a try.. unfortunately he now has food poisoning on our mini trip here .. the food looked good but chicken Sai shawarma plate is what he got I think the chicken might have been old or something.. the fries were good but that's about it .. I got shish tawooq and it tasted sweet I think they put a lot of the sauce so it made it sweet also salad didn't have dressing had to ask for some and it wasn't good . We also tried the hummus and it just had a weird after taste . Overall wouldn't recommend eating here.

Food really doesn’t have any flavor this was my second time cause I wanted to see if from when the first time I had it I thought what is this it smells great but it was so bland I had to add my own seasonings to eat it .
I had the beef shawarma with rice, falafel, hummus, and baklava. Everything was out of this world delicious. The rice in particular was a surprise I wasn't expecting. I want to try other places in SCM but it'd be difficult for me to pass on that shawarma plate again.
