We are not from Syracuse and were passing on our way fromCanada , and it was nice to have an authentic meal in a very simple atmosphere without the stiff white tablecloth service of a fancy restaurant . If you live in Syracuse , please support the owner of this email business. There are less and less small hardworkingBusiness like that , and more and more conglomerates like Paneras amd Chipotle conglomerates.
Maybe we just picked a bad day as I don't see what other reviewers see in this restaurant. The business seems to be struggling and understaffed and that is very unfortunate since the owner and the people who work there are really nice people.However, being nice does not give you a blank check to ignore other people's time. When we ordered our food, we did not know it will take an hour to get the food given no one else was sitting in the restaurant when we got there. I understand there might have been delivery orders in front of us but that could have easily been communicated. This changed all our plans and half of our group had to leave by the time food got to us.I recommend the owners to work on managing customer expectations by being transparent on the prep time.Edit: I left the review a few days after the service date. So, it is interesting that the business owner claims they had a break-in because that definitey cannot be the case. Anyways, this attitude of blaming other or one-off events for your failure is what stops this business from thriving I think. I am trying to be constructive. Just own your mistake in not communicating prep time to customers and improve on that. Instead of apologizing and owning their mistakes, this is the attitude they choose to go with?

I have only gotten delivery from Byblos, so I can't comment on the atmosphere, but I will say that the food is absolutely delicious! The owner seems to go out of her way to please the customer, and that isn't a common thing these days. There isn't one menu item that I dislike, and even the delivery people are sweet and accommodating. I'm a "regular" and will continue to be for as long as this restaurant is in business. This is a seriously good authentic Lebanese restaurant in Syracuse . Owner violet khabbaz is the congenial hostess . Every menu item is made fresh in house and prepared with love . The super sampler covers every dish you would normally order and is so very reasonably priced . Leave space for the walnut baklava- the pastry is the best I have tasted anywhere in the world . I ordered for the first time from Byblos this evening from GrubHub. I got the Meat Lovers Super Sampler with Tabbouleh. WOW. I was incredibly impressed with everything. Every bite of food had amazing flavor. The garlic sauce was incredible. I honestly hate, hate, hate eggplant but decided to give the Baba ghanoush a try since it came with it…it was ridiculously delicious, I was dipping everything I could in it. The portions were also great and I can’t wait to eat the rest for lunch tomorrow. Normally I’m disappointed when I try new restaurants but they officially have a new devoted customer. Thank you so much for a lovely, lovely meal at the end of a very long day!!

great food. i work in the area and the byblos bowl is my go-to. as a midde eastern person i find it so frustrating when middle eastern restaurants give unseasoned/undressed salads bc thats not authentic, nowhere in the middle east will you get an unseasoned salad and Byblos actually makes AMAZING salad thats seasoned and goes perfect with the rice and even the rice is super authentic and spot on i love their food, most of the time you can get arabic pickles added to the bowl too which makes it even more addicting. very happy this place exist will definitely keep getting my bowls for lunch.

I went here to pick up an order and they didn't even know they had an order. Told me it would be really quick to put together. Ten mins later I was told it would be another ten mins because she had to do another delivery order first. Two men walked in and ordered, maybe 20 mins after I had arrived and they were served before I received my Togo order. I walked out. I did not eat here, nor would I ever. The baklava on display under the counter looked horrible. The place was dirty and there were other people in the back scratching their heads and beard over the food. I never saw anyone wash their hands and the whole place looks grungy.

If you do place an order to go, give her some extra time to prepare it. I have noticed that preparation time is usually closer 30 minutes. It is worth it though! Kefta kabab and gyro are very good.
I wish I could give 10 stars ! I went to this beautiful cafe late in the evening, roughly a little after 8 pm which was not too long before closing. Everyone was great and knowledgeable about the menu and super helpful on what is vegan. The food was spectacular! Which is astounding because usually you get the bottom of the pot at most places right before closing. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. The ambiance was that of a modern ma and pa shop which I love love love (always have the best food) ! This is probably the best Lebanese food I’ve ever had and I’ve lived East and West coast. Delicious !! To the lady who convinced me to try her humus, you are an Angel ! Recommend 20 times over and I will be back ! Thanks so much

food was good. service was not. server laughed at me and told me it was strange for wanting a certain sauce with my pita bread. brought the cook out to laugh at me more and refused to let me order the sauce that was on the menu. i’m not from the area so i didn’t really know they couldn’t do it. felt very mocked after that interaction. won’t go back

I ordered the falafel wrap. It was cold dry pita bread, with flavorless falafel, and runny flavorless white sauce. All I could taste was the dry bland pita bread.The assorted pickles aren’t assorted, they’re just regular old dill pickles.
