The ice cream cakes are delicious! There is a signature crumble layer and delicious frosting! All the cakes have the same inside, so you always know how they will taste, no matter how they are decorated. The cakes also have a variety of decorations for any occasion, including thanksgiving!
They will write a name on the cake for no extra cost!
The girls at the counter are always friendly and helpful.
That being said, everything is very expensive. The cakes are especially overpriced.

I'm not sure which store the carvel food truck comes from but I ordered a chocolate milkshake from the truck it cost $7 it was small and honestly the worst shake I've ever had it basically was like low-fat chocolate milk extremely running it was such a disappointment definitely will never go there again

The lady was not generous at all, the soft ice-cream tasted like eating a pice of cake. She was not profesional at all, the way the ice-cream was prepared was crazy...not recommend to anyone.

5-star ice cream. I drive here from Buffalo just to get ice cream, and I honestly wish they were closer, seeing as how I can rarely make it out towards Syracuse.
I’ve politely mentioned my suggestion of a closer location to the staff of these Syracuse Carvels, but they have always immediately shrugged it off.
Compare that to Rita’s Ices in Rochester, which always has the best service of any ice cream shop I’ve ever been to, and at least kindly tells me that they’ll think about it.
I don’t know any store around here that sells dry ice. I can’t transport a whole ice cream cake back home, it’ll melt on the way back! I haven’t been able to enjoy a fresh Fudgie The Whale cake. ?
But anyways, my main concern with this specific location is parking. The lot is waaaaaay too small for a whole plaza of stores. There’s like 8 stores in a plaza with 15 parking spots. I would imagine I’ll probably need to park in the Tops parking lot in the future, just to visit this store for an ice cream cone. (And I would have to walk across a busy intersection, as well!)
The problematic parking lot often dissuades me from visiting this location, and I end up going to the Brewerton Road location more often than not.
Of course, there’s constantly crazed Dunkin Donuts drivers in that Brewerton parking lot trying to do 30 in a 5 MPH lot…but considering I drive so far for a cup of soft serve, I’ll take what I can get. ?
