“Best place to have a party in event room. Maria is the best to work with. Responded very quickly to inquire of room for my father’s birthday celebration. Lots of choices for food and the pizza oven has a variety of tasty pizzas to choose from. Kim DeStefano was the best bartender, quick, efficient and exceptionally friendly. The event room was everything I wanted & could have imagined to celebrate my dad’s 80th. Highly recommend with working with Marie for any parties in the future. Thank you Maxwells for awesome food and venue. Cheers !!“

“Patrick Joseph’s at McAvan's Pub served me one of the best lunches I’ve had in a long time.

The Reuben was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the tomato, carrot & ginger soup was outstanding — comforting, bright, and clearly homemade. Every bite tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared.

The staff and bartender were so welcoming and inviting, which really elevated the whole experience. Paired with a Guinness, it was the perfect lunch.

Great food, great service, and a cozy pub atmosphere. Highly recommend.“

“It's a good place to study and have a few drinks with friends. Out of the way, but on the campus shuttle line so not a lot of sketchy people around. Usually campus orgs having events up here. The food is over priced for what you get but, all in all not bad.“

“I disagree 100 percent that the riggies here taste better than Utica. They simply don’t. The portion size was great, but the chicken was so cut way too small. The sauce just didn’t hit my taste buds the same. The cheese and seasoning on the saucer for bread is just odd. Not bad, just odd. My server never checked in to ask how my food was, but he did have a lot of tables. I probably would return and order something else. Overall, it’s worth checking out. They do seem to get very busy though. Parking can be limited.“

Limerick Pub Bar • $

“Went to this watering hole after two long days of work on a Saturday night. Was quickly greated at the bar by the female bartender who promptly served me a drink with a smirk on her face. Enjoyed the vibe (would like to hear more rock music though) and tried to unwind from a long day. Whilst sitting there minding my own business, a gentleman approached the bar, next to where I was sitting, asking for quarters to play pool. The bartender politely informed him that she could not allow a new game to start as the bar had already locked the doors and was about to close. This gentleman, who said his name was Dalton, became irate about the matter and had to be asked to leave. My first thought was on his name. Dalton was the cooler in Road House. He's supposed to always remain calm. This guy was anything but calm. He was ranting in a language that was a hybrid of hillbilly, valleygirl, inner-city slang and various grunts. The bartender was able to understand him, but when she spoke in an ordinary voice she sounded pompous and mean to him. Road House Dalton was always cool. This guy was the opposite. While he was on his rant at the bartender, I suddenly noticed that she was sitting atop a horse (or so I thought) while getting frustrated that he didn't understand that there wouldn't be enough time for a game of pool before the establishment closed and they had to leave, and they didn't want someone upset because they wouldn't be able to finish their game to determine who was going to be the man that night. It was about that time that I realized that the bartender was not sitting atop a horse, but a giant crustacean from the Paleolithic Era. The beast asked for... tree-fitty. God Dang Loch Ness Monster!!!!!

Side note the Burger is still the worst around has been for well over 20 years. Don't order it. The service and atmosphere is fantastic.“
