Well, the many poor reviews about the conditions are accurate. The location is excellent, the lobby is nice, and the front desk staff was excellent. Everything else though, not very good for Sheraton quality. The upper floors and the hotel rooms themselves are in desperate need of a makeover. Highly worn out!Had dinner at Rachel's which was fine, the server was great, but tried to order room service breakfast, no one even answered. Went downstairs to the restaurant again, this time one man working, doing the hostess job, waiting tables, and bussing..omg! We walked out. The Starbucks store not much better. One attendant, horribly slow service. Again, all not Sheraton quality. We will have to find a different hotel from here on out for the next four years!Rooms: Worn outWalkability: Best location to the university

Pool was good. Had to ask for things and never got them. For the price not as good as I hoped. Good comfortable bed

The rooms were nice, the service was good and the location was great for what we had going on.The reason for the 1 star is because there were cockroaches crawling around in the pool area!!! One of the children we were with had to beat them with their wet towel. If they were in the pool area who knows where else they were (restaurant, Starbucks etc.) When we alerted the front desk they did not seemed concerned at all and made it seem like a normal occurance...um NO!!!Lesson learned that not all Sheratons are the same, this one is outdated and BUG infested!!!

I used to think that paying more for a Sheraton was worth it. Sadly, this Sheraton shattered that expectation. Our experience started off with more than a 20 minute wait to check in on a Sunday evening. There were only two people ahead of us, but only one front-desk staff member who obviously had no desire to be there. After the long wait, when we approached the desk there was no eye contact made. The front desk person continued to work at his computer for an additional 5 minutes without saying a word to us. Finally, when he did look up, there was no greeting, just "last name". Needless to say, that set the tone for the remainder of the experience. The lobby itself was nice, clean and modern looking. However that did not carry through to the rest of the hotel. The room was OK, but definitely dated. It could use a refresh for sure. Tile grout was missing from the tub area and the furniture has seen better days. Thankfully the sheets and bedding were clean. The notice on the dresser warning guests of human trafficking was concerning but we did know that Syracuse has a high crime rate.We headed to the Club Level Lounge for "Happy Hour". The room was small and it was crowded. There was no seating left for us. The food station was sad. Four hot stations, two were purposely left empty and the other two only had a few items left. The cheese and fruit platter were the only eatable items. There were no plates. We asked the staff person for some. She dug some out of a cabinet, then promptly said she needed to get more from downstairs, shut down the bar and left the lounge leaving everyone without the option of getting their "Happy Hour drinks". Didn't even offer us anything before she left. The fridge with softdrinks didn't work, so all other drinks were room temperature.During the 5-10 minutes we stayed there, two other staff members came in (very loudly) and picked over the little food that was left.We grabbed a bag of chips. The most expensive bag of chips I ever had) and went back to our room. We ended up ordering delivery service from town.Needless to say, my experience left a lot to be desired. If you are looking for a mediocre/clean place to stay the night, this will do the trick, but do not expect anything more than an overpriced place to rest your head for the night and whatever you do, DO NOT pay for a club-level room - seriously, it was a joke.Sheraton, please train your staff on customer service practices.Rooms: Clean but dated.Walkability: Great location for people visiting Syracuse University.Noteworthy details: Front-facing hotel staff seems to have little knowledge of customer service.

I stay here every time I come into Syracuse. Great rooms, great views, perfect location, free parking garage, great restaurant, and the service is always fantastic.

I recently heard that this property would be turned into student housing, there used to be tons of private houses that were torn down to make parking lots, the old Rosewood building was used, then they wanted to other properties, McCarthy Manor, and Toomey Abbott apartment buildings, this hotel, also housed the DMV 5-hour course, a reception for weddings and parties.

Not sure how this is a 4-star property; the room was very dated and shows a lot of wear in places. I was in disbelief at the condition of the parking structure as well— how is that still standing?Service encounters were great, however, and the cafe stand in the lobby was clutch. Very nice location as well, of course, and the proximity to campus was the reason we stayed.

Having stayed here earlier, we decided to stagy again and not try any other hotel. BIG MISTAKE. The air conditioning is so noisy that you can not sleep. The maintenance guy informed all rooms are like this because the AC units are very old worn out motors.Noteworthy details: Complained to the front office - very rude and arrogant receptionist informed us he will change our room only once and after that tough luck!
