One of the best parts of living in the Catskills is Shandaken Bake, worth going out of your way for, worth arriving early and worth waiting in line. 🍰

A must-stop if you're anywhere near Tannerville/Catskills. Easily the best key lime pie I've ever had and everything we had was amazing (biscuits, banana bread, etc). The outdoor seating feels like a perfect getaway to enjoy your baked to perfection treats and have a lovely coffee breathing in the mountain air!

Finally got to this amazing bakery. Very friendly owner and staff. Owners baking delights are a work of art! Key lime pie is incredible and all the other treats we purchased were simply mouth watering. Looking forward to going there again soon.

Honestly I don’t want to leave a review but that’s only because I wanted to keep this place to myself (and the fact that it sells out FAST). If you’re in the area this is a MUST. Everything is *chefs kiss . Service is phenomenal and the owner is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet (so you better be nice !).

Incredible baked goods. So delicious! Not too sweet. We had the key lime pie, cheese biscuit, chubby squirrel, choc chip cookie and carrot cake. All amazing.

Walking in here the first time we were greeted like old friends by the wonderful proprietor Craig. The key lime pie is amazing. The chubby squirrel tail is amazing. The folks behind the counter are attentive and friendly. The scones are amazing. If there are tarts available, then definitely order some. It is wonderful how some of the baked goods follow the seasonal abundance of the filling. If you follow Craig on the 'gram, you get to find out if he opens up for evening hours.

So when me & my girlfriend and her friend stopped in a couple hours after they opened they were sold out of everything but two items. A logical assumption is the quality of their baked goods is so good that people come in early to buy. But with that said, the owner & person I found out is basically a solo act & responsible for the wonderful experience you will have is understandably limited in the availability of his products because it's just him running the show.
Never tried his bake goods other than the free cookies he gave us. All I can say is make this stop a must on your trip to the Tannersville area.

The owner not only was a delightful human being, but also bakes each pastry with absolute love! The key lime pie was an adventure of well balanced flavors and textures, the biscuit a warm comforting puff with an amazing crispy bake, the quiche a yummy savory snack perfect post-hike! It’s a shame us New Yorkers can’t find a bakery like this one in the city. I will most certainly be visiting the Catskills again just for these. Thank you, Shandaken!

We recently visited Tannersville, New York. We had asked our Airbnb hosts to send us a recommendation for a bakery, for a cake for my son’s birthday, and I am So happy they recommended Shandaken Bake! The cake was delicious and super cute too. We knew this was a place we had to come back to - we wanted to try all the baked goods we could. We went two other days in a row, and started off the morning with the most perfect biscuits. Both were excellent, but the Cheddar + Chive Biscuit was extra special. We ended up taking other things home with us both days, and everything was fantastic - the Chocolate Chunk Cookie, the Blueberry Buckle, the Chubby Squirrel, the Chocolate Banana Bread and the Banana Cake. We can’t wait for our next visit to the area because we know there are other goodies that we still need to try. Besides the taste, quality, and presentation of the baked goods themselves, the bakery is perfectly set-up for sitting and eating or picking up. It is a very well thought out space, impeccably designed not only for functionally for food preparation and customer service, but it is also a beautiful space. You have to see for yourself. The owner also couldn’t be nicer. We really enjoyed talking to him, and we appreciate his obvious passion for what he does. Go visit Craig at Shandaken and experience a culinary delight, or two - you won’t be disappointed!

If you’re in Tannersville, Shandaken Bake is a must-visit. Craig’s dedication and passion for baking shine through in every bite.

The care and attention to detail in each pastry, especially the delicious Chubby Squirrel, made for a truly special experience. We couldn’t wait to get home to try it—it was exceptional.

And the key lime pie. It’s truly a work of art ⭐.

Thank you for the wonderful memories and warm hospitality; we look forward to returning!

If you are in the Catskills, take the time to visit Shandaken Bake. We got there 15 minutes before he opened and there was a long line - after having his pastries, I understand why! Hands down, the best key lime pie I’ve ever had. Looking forward to stopping in the next time I’m in town. Shandaken Bake is a wonderful and much needed addition to the Tannervsille downtown.
