Bistro 12 has a cozy, warm atmosphere with a nice view of Music Hall across the street. The owners are welcoming, the service is good and there's a nice variety of menu selections. Especially since the prices are so high, the food could use some improvement. It would be nice to see larger pieces of fresh seafood in the risotto, the butternut squash soup was too watery and could use some more seasoning and half of the short ribs were full of fat and grizzle making the dish greasy and inedible. Too bad!

Amazing experience! I’d never been to a restaurant that serves only Portuguese only food. I actually thought it was French when I made the reservation, but I’m so glad I chose it. The owners were lovely, and our group of five was treated to a complimentary dessert wine after dinner, it was strong like a bourbon or brandy, but sweet and smooth with a honey flavor. Absolutely delicious. Everything the food, atmosphere, and service was phenomenal.

Nice restaurant. I had curry monk fish. Not a flavor combination I enjoyed. I love curry and monk fish separately but together it did not work for me. My wife had Portuguese cod. Liked very much. I found prices a bit high but Terrytown is not a cheap town.

My husband and I had a most delightful dinner. Michel the owner welcomed us like into his home. Excellent wine recommendation with our dinner. All staff efficient and attentive to our needs. Octopus appetizer, Pasta Bolonase delicious and generous. The venue itself is charming, with Michels own artwork as decor.
We were visiting from out of town, otherwise this would be a favorite to frequent.
One of the best restaurants I've visited in years. We were a large party sans reservations and they fit us in without missing a beat. The food was fresh and excellent. The Portugese salted cod was out of this world. Service was timely; clearly our waiter cared about representing the business well, as well as seeing to diverse needs at the table. He was responsive and accommodating, patient and pleasant when 4 people spoke to him at once (in other words, a saint). The owner (one of them) was terrific as well. Highly recommend this place!

The seafood risotto is excellent, atmosphere is very cozy, the service staff are very friendly and helpful. One of the owners came and played his mandolin at our table, the owners art working is on the walls. A wonderful experience.

Every once in a while the time space continuum opens up for a delightful meal at a wonderful restaurant in an off the beaten track place. Last night it was Bistro12 in Tarrytown NY. Eggplant parm showed up n the menu along with pasta bolognese. Miguel the owner was beyond gracious and serenaded us with a short guitar riff. Idyllic.
