This is currently just a bar and not a restaurant. The restaurant side of it did not survive COVID.

Cellar 49 at Tarrytown House Estate on the Hudson. This bar is a hidden gem in this special amazing hotel near Sleepy Hollow. The beautiful grounds and mansion, castle settings!! Come for a drink or night out! There's also a secret pool table, foos ball & shuffle board!! Kenny & George are awesome. I'm so happy this bar is back open!!!

This gorgeous estate will always hold a special place in my heart. This is my boyfriend’s and mine very first date night. The restaurant is below and has a very romantic intimate feel. I love the old world of this place. The wait staff was insanely friendly and attentive. The food was out of this world. I tell everyone about this place if I get the chance. I hope one day we can come back when we’re back in NY.

We went away for the weekend and we had a great time. We eat here last friday night and the food was great. I wasn't sure if we should give it a try based on the reviews but I'm glad we do. We all loved on food. The only negative I can say was the wait time to get served, bringbour food etc can be much better. Also the waiter can be much more friendly that would make it a lot better. Overall would go back.

I did not have a great experience here. It was very hard to find and there were not a lot of people there on a Friday night, which I take as a negative sign. The food was good and the waiter was nice, but not attentive at all.

We are staying at the estate. This restaurant is the worst customer service experience I have experienced at an ostensibly upscale restaurant. Room service is really “come pick it up yourself”. Coffee, if you can get them to deliver it, comes in a box! When I didn't feel well and just wanted a few bites of cheese they absolutely refused even though they have multiple dishes with cheese and could have accommodated. Very disappointing-

V disappointed with the service and attitude at the bar. I was at the bar to order drinks for myself and a friend. People who came after me got served before. I waited 20 minutes until it was obvious that I was being completely ignored by the barman for reasons that may be inappropriate to spell here.

This excellent bistro has delicious food and a chic rustic ambience. You'll pay a lot for a meal but you won't regret it.

The restaurant was lovely. The food was very good especially the shrimp and pasta dish. The seafood soup was just so so, however, and the service could have been more attentive. (We were never asked if wanted more drinks.) Overall, we enjoyed and will go back - especially in the winter, because of its dark ‘cellar' coziness.

We spent wonderful 3 nights at the hotel (beautiful grounds and clean rooms) but the downfall of our weekend was this restaurant. For the first night we decided to eat in the dining room which needs a major facelift. Im all for a traditional vibe but between the gross carpet, the terrible and very unflattering lighting and the lack of background music (very strange to not even have a little jazz playing in a cellar restaurant), it just felt super creepy. Food was actually alright but the service was horrendous. Twice I had to actually get up to find someone so I can 1) order a glass of wine and then 2) return it as the glass has lipstick marks on it. The butter that came with the bread was old and smelled of blue cheese. My guess is, it was open in the frig next to the cheese and absorbed the odor. When I mentioned this to the waiter he just shrugged his shoulders and told me that the butter smelled fine so no need to replace it. We ordered the pork chop and wedge salad- both fine but not worth the price as they were nothing special. The next night we decided to try the bar for a drink and appetizer. Im sorry but where do you find this staff? The bartender was a very strange guy with zero understanding of customer service. First of all, we sat there for 10 minutes watching him organize bottles before he would even great us. We ordered two drinks and the spinach dip to share. The dip took almost 30 minutes and then it came out like soup. Im not kidding- it looked like a bowl of cream of canned spinach soup. How is this acceptable to serve??? When we said something to the bartender he immediately became annoyed and instead of saying anything, he just pulled it away from us as if we were being punished. On the 3rd night, we had no choice but to drive into town to eat. I think its time to update the space and retire the staff... and a little music wouldn't hurt.

I believe a large part of the reason why we love this place is that we usually eat there on off hours. The restaurant is empty and we get the full attention of Staff. The food has always been extraordinary. Highly recommend this place......off hours. I suspect that when it's busy, it's probably not a great place to eat.

loved this place, waiter was friendly, atmosphere was dim-lit, little bit of history, and food was amazing! Best burger I've ever had! I even had a bite of what I think was a Philly Cheese steak and the flavor was amazing. Only downside is that I don't have a bigger stomach to try everything! I can't wait to come back!

Good atmosphere in a historic speakeasy that has been around since before prohibition. The food was underwhelming and a bit overpriced, but it's worth going once to see the place.

We stayed at the Tarrytown estate and purchased a package that included a prefixed dinner with a wine pairing. My husband had steak and Caesar salad and I had the chicken course with Barata to start. We also shared flourless chocolate cake and apple pie. I would say the food was quite delicious and the wine pour was generous. We also enjoyed some Port at the end of our meal. It was exactly what we needed to start a really fun night. The rest of the area next to the restaurant is worth exploring as well. We ended up playing a few heated games of Foosball and pool.
