Grass Roots Kitchen is such a gem! The food is absolutely delicious, the space is clean and inviting, and the prices are very reasonable a rare combo these days. I loved that there were options for everyone, whether you're craving something hearty or something lighter. The Buffalo Cauliflower bites were a standout perfectly crunchy and packed with flavor. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu. Highly recommend!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem for Clean, Healthy Eating!

I was in Tarrytown for work and needed something quick but healthy—and wow, I’m so glad I found Grassroots Kitchen. It’s rare to find a spot that truly understands clean eating, but this place absolutely nails it.

The food is fresh, packed with protein, loaded with vibrant vegetables, and clearly made with real care. Every bite felt nourishing. They were also super accommodating to my specific health needs, which made a big difference. I walked in hungry and health-conscious—walked out energized and ready to crush the rest of my day.

Thanks to Grassroots Kitchen, I’m feeling great, clear-headed, and fueled for a productive workday. Can’t recommend this place enough for anyone who wants to eat clean without sacrificing flavor. Truly one of the best healthy meals I’ve ever had.

Was doing my happy food dance the whole meal. Really extensive vegan menu and everything was so yummy. Between our whole party, we had the Oyster Mushroom Po’ Boy sandwich, Korean BBQ wrap, vegan pulled “pork” sandwich, tofu scramble, and vegan cinnamon roll. Sooooooo good.

Clearly labeled vegan items on the menu and many items to choose from- bowls, wraps, burgers and breakfast. I got the buffalo cauliflower bowl with grains and it was so good and filling. Will definitely go back and try other items.

The restaurant offers an impressive variety of vegan options. While they do serve chicken and some meat sandwiches and eggs, the staff ensures a safe dining experience by using dedicated grills specifically for plant-based items to prevent any cross-contamination. As always it is advised to ask again when ordering. Additionally, they have a delightful assortment of vegan pastries, like banana bread and blueberry scones.

Quick and easy spot with vegan scramble, salads, sandwiches, and smoothies. Not the healthiest of vegan options but great comfort food.

Today was my first time ever at this establishment
Very disappointed
I paid for a salad and when I went back to my office I realized I was not given any utensils or napkins. I walked back to the restaurant and was told customers need to request for utensils and napkins . What restaurant gives no utensils and napkins? I’ve heard of requesting for extra dressing, or toppings that’s common sense🧐
Salad I ordered was dry no dressing had to request for that as well

Vegetarian options: It was okay
Customer Service was very poor
For me to post my experience it’s making me put a star😡

Grassroots kitchen was a good way to kickstart our Tarrytown weekend. Healthy options all around. From drinks, soups, meals - something for everyone who views the menu.

Comfortable and small. Spacious for a bigger group towards the back or a few seats at the front. Service was good, food was healthy and delicious. I enjoyed looking at menu and it's healthy benefits, staying green with utensils and other cookware, and the art on the wall.

Parking is available at the front, all payments accepted, service was friendly and good. Thank you for keeping us healthy with various options.

Update: Grass roots food is amazing however they could use a little tlc.

The front door needs a double door weather barrier to keep the freezing air from blowing in.

The bathrooms are always dirty, no soap and garbage everywhere. The staff are wonderful but seem to be a bit unorganized. They may need a manager to help the inexperienced staff.

I had the buckwheat pancakes and I have to say I enjoyed them. For whatever reason I wanted to be healthy and I enjoyed them.

Mikka was absolutely lovely, super sweet and patient. Her other female co worker could use some lessons from her. I asked how the broccoli cheddar soup was and apparently it’s popular. I ordered a few items including the soup and spent about 50 bucks plus tip. The soup was awful. It tastes like it has lemon juice in it and was not cheesy at all. I went to confirm if indeed that was the broccoli cheddar soup because I’ve never had a broccoli cheddar soup that tastes like that before. Mikka was being sweet about it in trying to help me out, however her coworker simply replied that is the soup and “I don’t know what you want me to do about it.” Mikka offered to change the soup for me and her coworker comes over and says that there’s nothing that could be done that she could go ahead and pack it for me to go. I let her know that the soup was awful and I don’t understand why I have to take something I dont like. I was not asking for a refund. I was asking to change it for something else. Her customer service skills are terrible. I asked for a manager and she said there was no manager but could reach out to someone. Thanks to Mikka and someone in kitchen, I was able to change it for a different soup, which was also not good. However, I appreciate Mikka at least trying to help me out. I won’t be back. I feel like I wasted my $50 eating here. The burger was ok, the chicken sandwich was nit great and didnt have the hot honey sauce. The biscuits were good. Mikka was the only redeeming part of this place. She’s awesome and a great example of excellent hospitality. Overall, I do not recommend this place.
