The Setback Inn is easily the go-to spot in Tarrytown! The atmosphere is always welcoming, filled with friendly people from all different backgrounds, which makes it such a fun and relaxed place to spend the night. Sometimes they bring in DJs to keep the energy up, and most of the time you can play your own music, which adds a personal touch you don’t get anywhere else.
The bartenders are fantastic—super friendly, attentive, and genuinely great people who make sure you’re well taken care of. On top of all that, The Setback Inn is the only bar in town that stays open late, so if you’re looking for a spot to keep the night going, this is the place.
Whether you’re out with friends or just looking to meet new people, you’ll feel right at home here. Highly recommend! 🍻

This place is pretty much the ultimate old school drive in Tarrytown. The drinks are affordable, it's packed on weekends and slow during the early hours if you prefer to drink that way.

It’s called an “inn” but doesn’t have any draught beers, very disappointing.
My brother was served a “blue Long Island” that had a significant amount of tiny fruit flies in it! Had us questioning at first if it was a garnish, as the bartender set it down in front of him and swirled the straw around kicking up little blackish flecks into the drink, before sliding the cup over to my brother. My sister and I used the straw to get a few out and put them on the back of our hands to realize finally that they were indeed fruit flies with wings, and at this point our brother had swallowed a few sips of the beverage. We got the bartenders attention and he immediately put the drink down behind the bar and said he would make us something different, but wouldn’t give us the money back for the drink initially. My mother and aunt had to get into a very wordy conversation with both of the bartenders who were very reluctant to refund us after this DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE!
Terrible customer service! Wouldn’t go back in there if you paid me to! Oblivious, inadequate bartenders. Very upsetting, ruined our entire night!

Absolutely disgusting I wouldn’t go back if you paid me bartenders are clueless and when they do make your drinks check them found a ton of fruit flies in the cup after asking the bar tender what it was in there he quickly grabbed it and threw it out after discovering they were bugs was told I couldn’t get cash back but he could re-make my drink just a absolute awful experience with terrible service

We were served a drink with a very decent amount of bugs in it. We asked the bartender who made a face and threw the drink in the trash. Utterly discussed we left asking for a refund and the bartenders gave us a difficult time. After more discussion they eventually gave us our money back.

Chilled atmosphere to hang out with friends and have a good time. As a plus they have a pool table and you can also play darts. My bartender ( I think his name is Ernest) was supper attentive and friendly ... will be back soon :)
