This is a glistening beacon of hope in a vast ocean of darkness when it's 2am and you've been drinking all night... During the day it's a night club with the lights turned on. It's inconsistent and rarely excellent. I do like some of the appetizers but overall the tacos disappoint. It's not the worst option but there are better places to choose before Colosso Taco.

This restaurant has the most accommodating and lovely people ready to assist you with your order. The food always arrives as ordered...CORRECT and TIMELY... It has been my pleasure to recommend your restaurant to others. I also choose your restaurant to order from when I have company over for an informal meal. So. ..in case you have not noticed....I adore you!!!! Thank you for your quality and ethics which are equally as important as the food. Also it is so fabulous that you read the comments and respond to your customers. It allows us to know you care. Please remain true to your style as you are wonderfully ," slaying " it !!!!!!!

Colosso is defined as any creature or think of giant size. In this case, we're talking tacos. The namesake, not our impression of them. We'd been torn between choosing here or Mighty Taco, wanting something quick and cheap. Tasty, obviously, as well, the highest of the priorities. A priority that was thankfully met when we took the gamble and decided to give it a second try. I've passed by this place oodles of times, and yet had only once gone in, before the pandemic. In the ever evolving blocks of the area, it has been a mainstay, emitting fried food smell onto the street corner. Last time I had visited I remembered that we all felt incredibly neutral about the food and dining in. There are many seats squished into the small rainbow space, along with arcade games that I assume are there to entertain you while you wait. While the giant menu is posted on the wall (I do believe this is where the name originated, as it includes not only tacos, but also pizza, wings, subs, burritos and the appropriately named "this & that," covering the rest of their fried bases) we opted to grab the abandoned takeout menu sitting on a table to make our choices. Nearly confident, we approached the counter. Three guys working, and yet despite us being able to see all of them having pretty chill Monday night, they rathered carry on their conversation for another few minutes than acknowledge us waiting at the counter. I almost felt compelled to holler "sorry to interrupt" to grab their attention since there isn't a bell. My hunger can bring out the impatience in me. During this time, we peeked inside to see an old pizza sitting in the shelf, covered in overly burnt pepperoni. Neither of us tried it, so feel free to make your own opinions on black pepperoni. I naturally led with a question asking about size. There's a magical song about beans and toots, and being with an amigo, I did not want this song to come into fruition. The plan was to get a veggie taco, meat and bean for my amigo and then a small container of chips to share. But I had to know the difference between small and large, which is a medium, because super is large, because I must be the only one who thinks that if you're going to rescale your tacos, your largest should be called the colosso after your namesake. The guy behind the counter explained that "the small folds in half" and the large (moving his hands slightly bigger) does not. The super is even bigger. I wish I could just tell y'all the diameter of the tortillas, like maybe you're getting an extra two inches of food, but your guess is as good as mine. Speaking of guessing, be okay with unravelling your meal to figure out what is what. After a small wait, we took our ten dollars worth of food the couple blocks back to my apartment to find that they don't label the meal. My small, which is maybe a third smaller than the medium large was confirmed by peeking inside to find the beans glopped in there. There were also some lettuce shreds and chunks of tomato. It tasted good, like your basic taco. No bells or whistles, not that I had ordered any. We both agreed the food was good. The chips honestly look like basic rounds you can buy at the grocer, salty circles, and come with a hefty container of cheese. There was a sufficient amount to split, a small clamshell box for a few dollars. Okay so yeah, it's a conveniently located quick fix for your taco craving when your pockets aren't feeling deep enough to splurge on the new cantina. But the ambiance isn't worth the dine in, and with options all around, I wouldn't make this my ride or starve. Perhaps if we had ordered "that" instead of "this" we'd be singing a different tune, but if it's Taco Tuesday for you and the kids, you're probably just as well off making them at home if you're looking for a side of warm fuzzies with your meal.

Life long customer and love a good late night taco or greasy pizza logs after 1 am!Staff is good, Lisa is the first woman who takes orders over the phone and you KNOW you will get the right order. The staff is consistent with phone orders, the guys are accurate but she is first woman who is correct. Until she started most of the time, if a female answers and it will be consistently incorrect. Not good if you have an allergy to a typical sub topping. But not a problem if she is there.

Worst taco/burrito I've had in a long time. Plain, greasy, and with too much cumin. Their chicken fingers were greasy, soaked in old oil, and were awful too. I won't be back.

It's not what it used to be, long long ago in the 80's. Sometimes good food memories should not be tried again. This is one of them.

What a rip off. Won't go back. Lousy food. Lousy service. Owner has no clue. Old place years ago was outstanding, no comparison now.
