One of the best Thai spots around no doubt.

Waitress did not comprehend what “To-go” meant, as I sat for 30min waiting. Furthermore, when I got my sushi, it was warm, not even lukewarm, like actually warm. I felt bad so I still ate it, but honestly horrific experience. No clue how they currently have 4.7 stars.

I have been going to Kanis for years and I can honestly say Kanis is a hidden gem in Tonawanda. Their sushi is the way to go. Their tuna is always fresh and their cone shaped hand rolls are the best (especially their Spicy Tuna). They have some delicious Tom Yum soup as well. Portions are very good and if you choose to sit in and eat, while the place itself is what you would expect from a neighborhood restaurant, the service is always great! Highly recommend giving Kanis a shot.

WOW! All I can say is WOW!

Kani Japanese and Thai is THE PLACE. We are visiting from out of town and this place is absolutely the best Japanese and Thai food we’ve ever had.

Got a california roll, shoyu ramen, and steam gyoza, and it is the BEST we’ve ever had.

Thank you for amazing, yummy food. When we come back to New York, we will be here!!!

I placed a mobile order for pickup and ended up waiting over 10 minutes past the ready time. Every time I asked, I was told it would be “five minutes,” but it felt like dine-in customers were being prioritized over takeout. The cashier was as polite and helpful as he could be, so I don’t blame him.. seemed like the kitchen was the real hold-up.
The waiting area also needs improvement. It’s uncomfortable sitting right next to people who are trying to enjoy their meals while you’re just stuck waiting. By the time I finally got my food (after about 15 minutes), I still had a 25-minute drive home, which made the whole experience not really worth it compared to closer and faster options.
As for the food, the noodles were decent quality but lacked much flavor. The pork belly however, was amazing and tender.
I do wish they had actual ramen takeout bowls rather than the regular round bowl, my broth was spilling out of the bowl when I ate my ramen.

Overall, I’d probably choose somewhere closer and quicker next time.

First time in and everything we ordered was delicious! We had a lot of fun choosing dishes from both cuisines and the place was clean and comfortable! Definitely going back!
