They've been there almost 100 years. I haven't been in 25 years, so I took my wife there for lunch the other day. It was better than 25 years ago!!! This place is an institution. Anyone who rates this less than 5 stars didn't understand where they were going.

So today after living in Troy, NY for over 5 years, I finally stepped inside of Famous Lunch! My! My! My! Great atmosphere, the service is excellent, and the Zippy fries 👈🏾😀 grilled onions on my double cheese burger! YESSS! Very happy I stopped 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Excellent old school, cash-only, place for breakfast or lunch. Stopped in for the famous mini hot dogs and was not disappointed! They were smaller than expected but the perfect snack size. The sauce on them is perfect. The gentlemen at the counter was very friendly and we received our food very quickly. Affordably prices.

The food is subpar. It would definitely be a lot better if they would season their food even a little bit. Fries are very bland and soft theres hardly ever a crunch to them. Their sausage and peppers are decent but still could use seasoning, their meat sauce is not for me just not a fan of the taste. I will say their pancakes and French toast are good though. Home fries are bland though. I'm not knocking the place just trying to figure out why it's so popular

I found this place totally by luck but I’ll be coming back on my trips across NYS. This place is a throwback in all the right ways. Their specialty is beef hot dogs cooked on a grill, not boiled. Get ‘em with chili sauce and everything. You can thank me later. Really nice staff too. They have burgers and french fries too.

Visit from out of town, the staff was welcoming and treated me like I was a regular. The mini hot dogs were the best I've had. Meat sauce was savory and dog was snappy.
