“This was my first visit to Modu Sushi. Since it was cold out, I started with the shrimp shumai appetizer which was nice and hot and fresh tasting. I liked the nice presence of spring onion in shumai, and the sauce was a good accompaniment.

The 2 rolls I ordered were stuffed well, and rolled nice and tightly. Since their kimchi was sold out, I asked for some gochujiang as a change of pace alongside the wasabi & ginger. What an eye-opener! It had everything. Salt, heat, a fair bit of acid which made the sushi really pop and made my cheeks rosy.

Well, since my cheeks were rosy anyway, I ordered some cold sake, just so I didn't get cold on the way to the car. Yea, that's it...

I finished, as I usually do, with a single piece of Toro as dessert. It was cut well which made it very tender, and as Toro does, just melted in your mouth. Since it was a generous piece, I had some with the gochujiang which made it even better. That is a dangerous sauce!

I definitely want to visit again to try their bulgogi, or bibimbap... or both.

“Undoubtedly the best fried chicken spot in the area. I have ordered from them about once a week in the last month and the chicken is always outstanding and consistent. I agree that the price is a little steep, but I think that the product given is worth it.“
