This place is so cool! It's huge and the owner is so nice and chats. We went to the cocktail area upstairs and the drinks were amazing and not too expensive, and the wines were also good and the ambiance was perfect. Highly recommend visiting here and supporting this place. I love the dive bar feel of the ruck and footsy, but this is an amazing experience and such a cool location with great workers. I've been going for more than 10 years and it had always been a great time. Highly recommended.

We had been to the Ruck and Browns earlier in the day. We spent a day in Troy eating. Both were great. And in the context of this review, we received excellent service elsewhere where food has to actually be cooked. Read on….
I was looking forward to Lucas Confectionary.
The food was good but my goodness, what horrible service. I’m trying to give the benefit of the doubt but it was terrible customer service.
When we first arrived, there was a large table for 8-12 people at the front with 2 people sitting there on laptops. They didn’t have/order food or drink and struck us as friends of the establishment. Fine.
But when 8 new patrons arrive to spend $ and support your business, the business/employees should have had the presence of mind to think ‘perhaps we should let the large party of 8 have the large table and the 2 friends/loiterers move to the plentiful tables of 2 scattered about?’ But nope, that don’t happen. Terrible situational awareness.
We ordered a round of drinks then a pair each of about 5 different things on the menu. Perhaps the server should have suggested, “if order x,y and it should feed 3-4” or something along those lines. But with no guidance we got 2 each of 5 items.
All charcuterie, cheese, bread.
IT TOOK AN HOUR to be served. That is ridiculous. I’ve thrown dinner parties and charcuterie is about as fast and easy as it gets. In fact, for direct reference, while we were seated here, a few of us went to their nearby pizza place and ordered three pies, came back with them and finished the pies before the Lucas’ food came out. You have to cook a pizza. All you gotta do with charcuterie is cut it.
This was July 6 and the place was EMPTY, possibly because of the holiday. So it made even less sense as why it took an hour to be served.
We were about to cancel and leave when the food came out. Only then were we told that the reason it was so slow as there was 1 head chef and we put in a double order.
This is where it goes from bad to worse because without guidance from the person taking our order, how were we supposed to know it was a double order? Then to have the moxie to blame the wait on our double order? Seriously? On an empty night?
They apologized and took 1/2 the food items off the bill but only after essentially blaming us for putting in a double order.
This place needs a lot to learn about service. We were easily the biggest tab of the night, a whopping 8 people and I’m unsure why they couldn’t keep up.
But after just thinking how they allowed a pair of friends to sit at the biggest table in the place and not have the good sense to address that, this seems to be the kind of place that caters to their friends and townies. Your dollars will be more greatly appreciated in better places in Troy.
One last comment: is there some health code violation if your server is wearing a short shirt and his full hairy belly is showing and within inches of my plate? Keep the fuzzy navel where it belongs: in shot glasses. That is just low class and disgusting to have to see as your food is brought out.

Love love love this spot. It's a wonderful intimate place to gather with. Friends or go on a date. The ambiance is very chill and trendy. I love the fact that they restore and reuse historical pieces in the design. We popped in on a sweltering summer night recently to indulge in their Tuesday special. I had a delicious Riesling to sip alongside my incredible build your own smashburger, the toppi g choices were amazing. I settled on pickled onions, bacon, cheddar, and a regular bun. My husband chose a gluten-free bun, and the American, which is made with American cheese, tomato, ketchup, and he added carmelized onions. We shared an order of their loaded tots, which were to die for. The owner, Vic, was there to greet people and help out , he is always very friendly and warm. His Sommelier/Bar Tender is very knowledgeable and helpful when deciding what type of wine or cocktail you should choose. They have a fantastic craft cocktail menu and even mocktails for non drinkers. Even the complimentary house water is refreshing. This will be a lifesaver this summer no doubt. Always innovative! GREAT JOB VIC AND STAFF
Vegetarian options: You name it they have it.
Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free, vegetarian and Vegan options. Just ask the server or bartender.
Wheelchair accessibility: When you first come in there is a lower section with tables. You can also access the main bar by going through the shared dining space accessible from the alley behind Donna's. There are many accessible options. You can also enter access Little Pecks through there as well. Vic also has provided outside seating for the other establishments which you can use as well.

Great wine bar with fun atmosphere. We went on grilled cheese day and it was to die for. Highly recommend
Really cute place, drink options are great and picky foods were good. Please be careful if you're celiac or gluten intolerant like me though though - we were told the crackers we ordered were gluten free when our first board came out, only to realize when the second board came out with the real GF crackers that the crackers on the first board were NOT. At that point it was too late. We even asked the waiter specifically when the first board came out, "these are gluten free right?", and he confirmed that they were. We brought it to the attention of multiple staff members who confirmed they badly glutened me - received an apology from only one of them, and still had to pay full price for everything, including the crackers that poisoned me and had me very sick for days. Please, please be careful here if you're celiac or gluten intolerant like myself!!!

I absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone. The food is not appealing and the service over there is almost non-existent. Out of all of the restaurants in Troy New York, I would place this one dead last.

Possibly the best atmosphere in downtown Troy. BEST staff - ordered one cheese, was given a mini board with all the different accoutrements. Our waitress saw how excited we were and brought us some baguette and butter on the house. The owner was there as well and we chatted with him for a long time - he is THE nicest guy. Will be back here regularly.

One of my favorite places in Troy for an evening drink. Find some of the best natural wines at the dimly lit bar surrounded by vintage nods to the history of the building and the city. Explore the garden and the attached coffee shop and Italian restaurant. Keep an eye out on their instagram for one of the many events that happen here each month.

I’m giving 3 stars cause if the atmosphere, it truly is beautiful! Like a little oasis in Troy. Great for a glass of wine. But, myself and the other two people I was enjoying with were surprised that all the fish was actually tinned. We checked out the menu and figured the salmon and octopus were made in house. Correct me if I’m wrong please! But 16 dollars for a tin of fish seems like a rip off. I can go to the grocery store and get it for like 2$. I wouldn’t go back for food, it was outrageously expensive. We had the octopus, salmon, ricotta, and a cheese board, and two drinks a piece. It was like 210 total for the three of us(with a 20% tip and we had to get our own food and drinks from the bar)… There wasn’t a lot of food between us and my boyfriend and I had to grab a snack like 2 hours later. The cocktails were okay. A little too strong, they weren’t well balanced. I know it’s a wine bar! But if you have only 2-3 cocktails on your list they should have perfected them. I was pretty let down with our experience. Wouldn’t recommend for food.

It pains me to not give this place 5 stars as the owner has created a truly one-of-a-kind vibe here... and it is GOOD.Takeaways:+ Fresh oysters every Tuesday+ The space is incredible and varied+ Owner is friendly+ Food looks good (we are going to get charcuterie soon!)- Wine was NOT for us... The first glass had a bit too much sulfates and tasted a bit vinegary. They replaced it for us free of charge, but the next glasses we had weren't great either (we tried three wines in total). We didn't complain after the first round but I would not recommend the wine, personally. It had a hard-cider kind of taste.
