The new location is beautiful. I was a regular customer at your original location since you guys first opened and haven’t been back in awhile due to the fact that I’ve moved pretty far away. Today I got such a craving for some stewed chicken over rice, so naturally I headed down to your shop because you got the BEST and when I went into the new store I was blown away with the expansion. The ladies were so nice, I’ve never seen them before but they were very polite so I trusted them to make me a decent plate without watching - maybe that’s my mistake but I wanted to do some other shopping while in there.. anyways, when I got home I opened my plate to this. Let me begin by saying I do not take pride in bashing a self-made business. In fact I tried just messaging the owner personally but I cannot find her on social media and the Mi Cass business Facebook page does not accept private messages. So this is for Kury- As a fellow mother, also student and health care worker, I’m lucky if I get to eat a real meal once a day, and the small has always been the perfect amount to fill me up. Maybe I’m not remembering correctly, but I recall beautiful chunks of chicken over the rice that I was able to cut up and mix with my rice and the sauce. But this is what I received this evening.. I understand that budgets can be tight, that is the case for most people right now with food prices and inflation. But.. if it’s not possible to deliver the product in a small container anymore then please just take it off of the menu. I would’ve had no problem paying more if I knew it would make the difference between getting the chicken I once knew over rice vs. mostly bones, ligaments, and rice. I was so excited for this, it’s been so long. Now I’m just disappointed. And still hungry with no time to go anywhere else. This made me pretty upset. I’m not sure that I’ll be back.

It’s been 4 years since I moved away now and I still dream of this place. The owner makes you feel like you’re home and taken care of. I ate at this place every day for weeks during lockdowns and it brought me joy during a time of isolation. Their roast pork is incredible.

We ordered Mi Casa catering for our Black Friday dinner. We didn’t want more turkey and wanted to spice things up. MI Casa did the trick. We asked for a milder style of jerk chicken, rice and plantains for our 11 guests. A reasonable $115 later and we are all stuffed with the spice leaving an enjoyable tingle on our lips.

One guest described the jerk chicken as challenging spice but satisfying. An extremely authentic Caribbean meal. We will be ordering again.

Also, we picked up at the mi casa market down the street as the owner operates an authentic Latin influenced downtown grocery store there. What a beautiful space for a market. A gem in the city.

Do not skip this place. Parking is easy if you drive around the block. It’s small inside, and take only but this place is the epitome of authentic flavorful Spanish food. The menu is written on a chalk board in English, though You will have to order In Spanish (unless the daughter is there - she speaks English and is really helpful) or you can pull out the google translate app, type in your order, translate it to Spanish and show the employee. It’s so worth it, the food is out of this world. Also check out their other establishment right next door mi casa market! Great addition to the Troy community

Ordered through Uber eats the stew chicken was rotten.
We couldn’t believe we actually was given rotten food. My BF loves this place and he was very disappointed.

We catered from this place for a party of around 65 persons. It was amazing. Food is delicious and very authentic. Had a large order delivered without any problems or mistakes. Delivered by a very professional and helpful person. Service is courteous and on time. The owner confirmed my order the night prior and helped me with extras which made my party a hit. Food was plentiful and my friends took left overs with them and I still have some more for dinner tomorrow. I strongly recommend this place.

I'm curious to know if the cooks have changed.Because the quality in the food is not the same. From when I first started coming to this restaurant I want to remain a customer but the quality of the food needs to be consistent

We were greeted with enthusiasm, excellent service and rhe food is phenomenal! I live about a half hour away. No deterrent here. I'll go again and again! Loved the homestyle feel loved the atmosphere. It's just a tiny little nook, and a great find, in downtown Troy, NY. I will recommend this restaurant to others and order ahead next time. The place fits about 15 people max. Otherwise you would wait out the door for the crispy panine or the jerk chicken like you're in the Caribbean itself ! If I could I'd give it 6 stars!
