We had our engagement party here. We were lucky to be able to reserve the River Bar. Jared did an amazing job helping us plan the event. He suggested a date where live music was playing which made our party even better. He worked with us to create a food menu and gave us awesome feedback on how much to order based upon our party size. The rest of the staff that served our party was wonderful. The drinks and food were delicious. The staff made sure the food was staying hot throughout the party and they even helped us box up all of our gifts at the end of the night. They did everything to make sure we had a memorable night. To top it all off, it's nice to have a place to go in Troy, New York that supports your local law enforcement and first responders. If you are thinking of having a private party this is a great option!

It almost gets 5 stars but I reserve that for upscale restaurants. The food quality is good. One thing that drives nuts is getting cold fries with my meal. They have always come out hot at ryans wake. Prices are reasonable, food is good, service is good, what else do you want? You want to spend money at place that you want to go back to. Consistent food quality and a reasonable price is what they offer

We only went for a cocktail . What appeared to be the owner met us at the door and was really welcoming . While waiting to take our drinks on the back deck we scanned the menu and it looked great with decent prices . Nice big parking lot .

There are so many good things to write about Ryan's Wake. Let's start with staff. Since Chris Ryan opened his unique, meticulous and perfectly organized restaurant, there has been little-to-no staff turnover. They are attentive, personable and have a great attitude. The food is really good and there is an ample variety of libation available. Plenty selection of beer, wine and spirits! The interior is a must-see and exterior is must-visit, especially in the warmer months. Chris Ryan knows how to run a bar/restaurant. He has a genuine concern for customers, staff and the community. He greets everyone with appreciation and gratitude. I have written very few restaurant/bar recommendations. This is an exception. I encourage going to Ryan's Wake and enjoying good food, a relaxed atmosphere, a variety of drinks, dedicated servers and certainly,...meet the proud owner! Ryan's Wake is a gem in awesome Downtown Troy!

Solid spot with nothing special tavern fare. Everything was a bit salty for my taste and greasy. Great prices though and fresh fries. Cheese dip was one of worst I’ve had for fries though.
We had a birthday celebration for my bride on Sat 1/20/24 5:30pm. Ryan's Wake is a true public house in the tradition of the Irish pubs. I had made an online reservation request for a party of 8 on Fri. And had a very prompt response, one hour, from Emily to confirm our reservation. When we arrived we were greeted by the hostess - tall, dark hair young woman who I failed to get her name. I had asked her if she was Emily b/c I wanted to thank her for the reservation. She said no but later she introduced us to Emily because she said that everybody likes to be recognized for their good service. Sweet. Our table was set with menus.Our server was J.J. (Justin) who took the drink orders. One of our party knew J.J., as he was a customer at his Stewart's Shop. The final two of our party arrived and we ordered our meals. Apps up first - bacon ranch fries ($12) enough for 4, bbq chicken dusters (tenders) ($12), and a "Not Too Many" (7) shrimp cocktail ($12). NOTE: the "Way Too Many" is 14 for $20. Whatta Deal!Dinners were: bacon blue burger ($15), Chicken Quesadilla ($15), two of the "Best Reuben You Ever Had" corned beef w/ requested mustard instead of Russian dressing w/ fries ($15). Nailed it. A Kickin' chicken sandwich (ala Nashville( ($13) - chix thigh crunchy outside, moist & tender inside.And two "Quintessence" chicken teriyaki dinners w/ cold spinach noodles & side Parisian salad w/ pickled veg ($15). A Capitol District favorite that Ryan's does exceptionally well. One diner didn't really like her Caesar wrap b/c of the dressing was different from her previous Caesar experiences. JJ & hostess apologized but this was not a big deal to us. Surprised when we got the bill that her meal was "comped". Not necessary, but GREAT customer service.As we were leaving we ran into Chris Ryan the owner. This was fortunate b/c we got to thank him in person and compliment his staff. Wonderful pub and restaurant on the river in Troy! Very fun place with two bars and multiple river facing patios! The owner is super friendly. All the staff are excellent, professional and super helpful! The food is great too! And great views of the Hudson river!
