Incredible food, lovely staff who work very hard. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who’s looking for a unique cuisine experience in the capital region.

My Arab friend and I came here a few months ago and were ushered to a secluded table near the kitchen. As much as I appreciate watching my food being made, it's noisier there, and there were plenty of open booths and tables near the window. But maybe our server thought that would put us too close to their valued, middle-aged, elderly, "non-Arab" patrons. Working at an establishment gentrifying Arab culture wasn't enough, but the server had the gall to say that those window seats were reserved! 1.5-2 hours before closing?! We sat in a window booth and saw not a single customer enter after us. Food was really good, but the service left a sour taste beyond just the Tagine.

The food is good but the place is disorganized. We placed an order to be ready at 6:15 and came to pick up. I was told they needed 15 more min. I waited outside, came back in 15 min later and asked and that’s when I was told the order was missing and he was cooking it all from scratch again. They didn’t realize until after I had come to pick up that a door dasher had picked up our order by mistake. If they didn’t realize till later, where did the 15 min promise come from? I was then told one item from the order was unavailable, and I should choose a substitute. If that was the case, did they just neglect to put it in the missing order? By 6:50 we asked them to refund us, but were told we could not be refunded at that time and instead offered and IOU slip to come back on Tuesday for our refund.

Great as always, we came in for dinner very late near closing and did not feel rushed one bit. The food was spot on.

Have been to the schenectady location many times, and am happy to discover the troy location is just as delicious and flavorful, with the same tea, rice, pita, and menu options.I love the tagines, particularly the lamb with smen, chicken with oranges and spinach, and the spicy date sauce which is quite spicy. Always also order the eggplant dipIve only come here for lunch once and it was good but the dinner selection is better. The staff were kind and helpful, and i like the larger open space in the Troy location. The food is also presented beautifully.Vegetarian options: Clearly labeled selection of flavorful vegetable stews and dishes, with protein options like chickpeas

I've been wanting to try Tara's for ages and finally got the chance! I went here for dinner on a Sunday and was sat immediately. The waitress brought over complimentary tea, which was delicious. For appetizers, we started with the dip sampler - eggplant, parsley, and olive tapenade - and Moroccan Cigars - Phyllo dough filled with ground lamb. Both were fantastic! The flavors of the dips were great, and the warm Pita bread was so fresh. For entrees, we ordered the Chicken with pomegranate, molasses, olives, almonds, and Harissa, and the Lamb with honey, prunes, apricots, almonds and Harissa. The chicken tasted sweet at first but had a spicy finish. It was a touch too sweet for my taste. The lamb, however, was outstanding. The prunes and apricots were not too sweet, and the dish had excellent flavor. Overall, the service was excellent, as was the Moroccan decor. The menu is extensive, so I'm looking forward to going back to try more things as well as their all you can eat lunch buffet!

We indulged in a bountiful buffet, savoring the exquisite flavors of a diverse array of dishes, including health-conscious options. Our culinary experience was truly gratifying.

I used to love Tara kitchen. I went this week for lunch to discover they no longer offer a lunch menu. The buffet was very limited (including dry chicken) and the items were barely warm. Dessert was a few sad brownies and a bunch of grapes. Server was distracted, saying she would be back with plates or tea and completely forgot about it. Sad.

I don't know if all Moroccan food is wonderful, but the food here certainly is. Excellent food, fascinating flavors, friendly wait staff. This is easily my favorite restaurant in the capital region.
