The place is cozy, the bread is baked to absolute perfection, their sourdough is awesome. What is not to love about this place??
Highly recommended if you're looking for amazing bakery bread in Troy
Their sandwiches and cinnamon rolls are also top notch (of the stuff I managed to try, everything else is probably also perfect)

The absolute best. Genuinely several things I've gotten here have brought a tear to my eye they were so good. Apricot danish might actually be the best thing I've ever tasted (and the croissants omg). Everyone is super friendly and kind too. Love this place so much!!

I was so happy to find such a good bakery right here in troy. The croissants are fantastic, the bread is fresh, and I can recommend anything they sell. Their sandwiches and the bacon egg and cheese croissant are soooo good

The pastry’s at placid are without a doubt great. But the sandwiches are the best in the city (along with Mallo’s). The pizza they do for lunch by the slice is New Haven style and truly some of the best in capital region. This place is all around a hidden gem

OMG, this pizza. Thick focaccia style crust is baked to perfection with inventive generous and definitely homemade toppings. It is spectacular. Friendly staff, lovely place, also available at their stall at the farmers market. Best pizza we’ve had in the area by a long shot.

We got a tip to stop in on our return trip home to have an almond croissant. It was a great tip, the croissant was flaky and delicious. We couldn’t park nearby as there was a highly attended farmers market going on which we did not have time to walk through. But next time we’re in the area, we are making time for the farmers market and stopping back in to sample more fresh baked goods at the Placid Baker.

I discovered a great bakery in downtown Troy, especially lively during the Farmers Market on Saturdays.
They offer an excellent selection of breads, bagels, and various pastries. However, there’s no espresso or mixed coffee—just a coffee station with drip coffee served from a thermos.

It’s a local favorite for picking up fresh bread, with consistent foot traffic after 10 AM. There are also a few cozy spots to sit, both inside and outside.

The pre made egg could be a little thinner or cook it separate or longer so its still not cold inside while the rest is melted. 😉
