From out of town, so it was our first time, but we are coming back. Food was excellent, service was spot on, and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.
I visit every time I'm in Troy. Great experience every time, no matter how large our group was. If you go once, you'll be back.

I threw myself a little tea party as a kind of self date thing. I cannot recommend this place more. Such a cozy atmosphere and an amazing place. They know their tea and they do it amazingly. They have so many options it can get overwhelming but omg the servers give fantastic recommendations. I got the tea sampler and I didn't expect to get 4 full tea pots of teas to try. A lot of tea and each one was absolutely delightful. My favorite was the carrot cake and if you like carrot cake its a must try. And for a tea spot I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. I got the afternoon tea witch is a full 3 course meal for $24. The roasted bell pepper and guda soup is a must have. Absolutely to die for. I also got the apple bacon 3 cheese sandwich and it was one of the most elegant but simple sandwiches I ever had. Perfect balance of salty and sweet. I want to give a huge shout out to my server katie. She was so sweet and friendly. When I mentioned I lost my earing backing she even offered me one. She's the kind of person I genuinely want to be friends with. Service was fast and amazing. I spent 2 hrs there with an eBook and even made friends with a nice lady at the next table over. Definitely perfect for a nice cozy afternoon.

They require customers to purchase shipping insurance in case a package is lost, which feels like a hidden fee rather than a standard business practice. It raises concerns about whether the company has ongoing delivery issues. I’m waiting to see if my package arrives, but a company offering online orders should stand behind and guarantee its own delivery instead of shifting that responsibility to the customer.

Nice place but they don’t allow us to split the bill for our table. Which makes it very clunky to decide who should pay what and how much gratuity to give based on personal preference. I hope they fix it soon or I won’t be coming back.
Had lunch and ordered two items; one to bring home for dinner. Left and realized I had left it behind. I called and they said it was “either taken or tossed”. The man that answered the phone wouldn’t even check. I told him I didn’t even touch it. Why would it be tossed? He just sarcastically repeated what he said originally and hung up promptly. Wow! Will never return. Return business, apparently isn’t importent here.

Good food in a cozy setting, but apparently half the population is supposed to hold it. Women’s restroom with three stalls + one all-gender family room with a urinal and baby station is a bold strategy. Would love to dine again when bathrooms match the guest list.

I stopped by The Whistling Kettle in Troy while visiting and had a great experience. The place has such a cozy and welcoming vibe and the staff was super helpful. We ended up buying a matcha set and it was really cool getting to smell and experience all the different teas before deciding. Definitely a fun spot for tea lovers and I’ll be coming back next time I’m in town.

Whistling Kettle is a gem in Troy! Not only do the have a comprehensive selection of teas, but their menu is varied and delicious. On our last visit, we were fortunate enough to be seated in the far back of the restaurant (it’s bigger than you’d think!) in Catie’s section. She is a wonderful waitress and her energy is infectious! We were a party of 4. I had the chicken cordon bleu crepe - while not traditional it was delicious! The mustard and bleu cheese flavors shined through. Others enjoyed sandwiches on fluffy/crusty (yes - both) Ciabatta rolls. For dessert we had the apple cinnamon crepe which was fantastic! Whistling Kettle is a must try when in the Troy area.
Great food. Quiet atmosphere. A little pricey, but the food and service was worth it.

Lovely tea cafe to hang out with your friends or family. The overall snacks and tea are amazing and delightful to sit down and relax and enjoy the lovely view of the farmers market, especially on Saturday! Totally recommend people to come here and enjoy their snacks and tea!
