Bugs your thing? check! The Wild Center has them, otters? check! got them too. Want to know more about geology, how we affect the beautiful world we live on, see a fish species that was alive when dinosaurs walked? yep, all that and much more. Very knowable staff. excellent presentations. I saw one with the otters and the one with the kestrel. Well worth your time. I was not able to walk the outside paths, however, the area is beautiful. and would be worth the walk. The gift shop...
We had a great time in spite of it being their last day of the season. They had a bus tour pre-scheduled... fulfilled their obligation and allowed us (as well as a few other guests) to orbit about indoors. And told us the outside trails & exhibits were still available to us.

An absolute must visit on any Adirondack vacation. We were there on a weekday in early October. Spectacular weather and no crowds. Part of the loop hike is the Musical Forest. My wife and I sat on a bench and listened to nature and the original music compositions for 20 minutes without seeing another person. Almost a spiritual experience
