Southern Girls Take 2 Soul Food

Waited in the restaurant more than 30 minutes for a to go order which they said my food was being cooked. When I finally got my order, after waiting we decided to eat our to go order inside the restaurant. Unfortunately, all of my food was cold like it was just sitting out for hours. To top it off, it just wasnt good at all. I paid for two soft drinks (Ginger Ale) & after paying for it, they were unable to fill one cup. They did try to replace the soda with sweet tea but that tea was extremely sweet & just undrinkable. If I could give less than one star I would.

I will never come back to this restaurant again.

The Mac n cheese with the yams omgggggg!!!!!! I wish they were open 7 days a wk I live in Hempstead there hasn’t been a Soulfood spot like this ever I used to drive to Queens just for Soulfood I wanna know who the cook is cause baby they put they whole foot in that food!!!!

Had this place 2 weekends in a row. Last weekend I got the fried shrimp and catfish combo with yams and mac with the cornbread. I was on the toilet all the next morning. i assume probably from the grease. I had left overs of the fish and made a sandwich the next night and then the morning after that I was on the toilet. This weekend my friend wanted to try it and I ordered the same thing except sautéed rather than fried. My friend ordered fried chicken with the same sides. Just morning he woke up with the same stomach issue I had last week. And i was perfectly fine, it's definitely the oil. Oh plus they forgot our cornbread. Food is your basic southern food, nothing too flavorful or hype to brag about.

This is the worst southern style restaurant!!!! I called and placed an order for wings for my son's birthday party..little 5-8 kids they gave me whole chicken cut up.I called and trying to find out why my order was mess up Nobody wants to take accountability for what happened I will not come back or recommend there to anyone.

Service was awful. Stood there waiting 15 minutes before someone acknowledged me. Nasty service.

The food is pretty good when you’re actually able to place an order. Service is extremely slow and there’s always an issue with the order. Be sure to check the bag before you leave the restaurant and be prepared for something to be out of stock. (As well as having to wait way beyond the standard wait time.) Note: They are not equipped to handle catering orders and every day customers at the same time so ordering ahead is recommended.

The food is amazing but they take a long time and will even cut delivery off without notice even after taking your order. That is a common occurrence with them.

I do not recommend anyone to go to Southern Girls on Merrick Blvd. They have opened and closed in the Laurelton, NY area at least 3 times. The food is good, but the service is really bad. Tonight, I placed an online order after 5pm for a 7:15pm pickup and they called me moments before 7pm that they canceled my order because they were closing early. Why couldn't they have called me soon after the order was placed? The customer service is not good. They have lost me as a customer. Unless they change how they treat their customers, they will close again and maybe never reopen.

I ordered a Cabbage plate and there was not one piece of meat in my Cabbage, I've tasted better Cabbage out of a can, then the lady in the back grabbed my cornbread with her bare hands and threw it on the counter, I don't mind supporting our people but never there again and if anyone asks me about the food I'll give them a ear full

I’ve heard of their catfish and decided to order. The catfish is fresh, well seasoned and cooked perfect. The Candied yams on the side is nice! They can do a little better with their peach cobbler.

On the road hunting for peach cobblers the cobbler gobbler here lol, they were out so I tried the apple and it was 🔥! I couldn't wait to warm it i ate it cold. When I make my way back for the peach I know it will hit! GREAT JOB LADIES! MUCH SUCCESS@

I ordered fried cat fish dinner and a side of potato salad. Absolutely delicious. The greens were tender and the cat fish perfectly seasoned. The potato salad was really good as well as the candy yams. This was ordered thru Uber Eats but worth stopping by in the future. Finally really good soul food
