I've been going today's place. And this my own location, I've been going for the past 10 plus years. Never complained about their food. However, a few months ago I start going to the Baldwin location only because I place an order with Uber Eats. I'm coming all the way from Suffolk County and once in a while, I'll drive out there to GET food and I placed an order on Uber. Eats and on my way to pick up my food when I get a notification that my food was canceled. I called the restaurant no one answer. So I end up calling the location. In Baldwin, the lady was very friendly was very polite. Was very respectful. She apologized for the convenience of the union. Their location and I decided to place my order with her. And then we drove out there and picked up the food out. There is great as well. No complaints. But today, I was in, I'm city area, had an exam. And after the exam, I decided, why not? I'm passing tropical jerk. Anyway, let me stop in, get me some food. I got me a large combination. Have jerk pork and Barbie fried chicken with rice and peas. The young lady at the deck she was very sweet, but the food is the reason i'm writing this review.
It was horrible waste some money. I asked for Bbq fried chicken it was more fried chicken, but on the soggy side. As for the pork overcooked too hard. No jerk flavor at whatsoever. If I have to give this a reading from 12 ten I will give it a one.It was that nasty, i've realized there's so many jamaican restaurants popping up all over.There's plenty of them in suffolk, but I will come to nassau to this particular spot, to get my food and like I said, i've been doing it for years i want it to be this much disappointed
I guess if you really want authentic Jamaican. Food, you gotta go back to Jamaica, gotta take a vacation to go to Yada. And get yourself some Maria food.
And this is for the chef. I don't know if you don't use a thermometer to text. The temperature of your food to know when it is properly cooked. You can, how can you overcook jerk? Pork, I know what Jamaicans relax to overcook. Stuff to think he's gonna get soft, but instead of being soft, it's get hard. Pork is lean meat lane. Meat don't need to be cooked for too long. It loose the moisture and all that fat. So the meat becomes too tough to bite. Put more love and effort.Taste your food as you're cooking.Making sure it has everything it needs before you actually give it to somebody.This is a restaurant, it's not like you're cooking at home and you could just cook.However you want to

On 6/6/26, I ordered two plain fried drumsticks. Both had some yellow meat (see photo below). The chicken did not taste spoiled, either, but I did not want to take a chance, so I threw them out. They
tasted bland anyway.

The place also looks dingy inside. The interior needs updating.

Denise was my server and did not know why the meat was yellow. I will NOT be back!!!

March27 2026 I want to tropical jerk on front st in uniondale and ordered a large jerk pork and I got a medium jerk pork and they try to tell me thats a large tray i see what they did they rob me of my money with i pay 20 dollars for a large jerk pork believe me I will never go back there again that was my last time going there

They were nice. I like everything jerked, and you really can't go wrong with jerked chicken. I would not say the atmosphere is impressive, but it's fine. I would eat here again. I haven't eaten here in years actually, and I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

Idk why all these negative comments and one stars. I come here almost weekly now with my wife. The jerk chicken with oxtail gravy, 4 fried wings chopped and beef patty hits like no others. I have a great experience every week that I’m here

Wish I got the chance to try the food I ordered on uber eats after 20 minutes my order was cancelled by the restaurant

We should support our own! The food here is delicious BUT why is Tropical Jerk Uniondale Front Street management so unkind to its employees. 2 people handling the Sunday crowd -one of the busiest days of the week? The young lady at the counter was graciously trying to take orders and pack ready orders at the same time! There were at least 15 people waiting for 30+ minutes! Management needs to show farmer respect to its employees and ITS CUSTOMERS!!! You have to do better!!!

I ordered Jerk chicken rice and peas and vegetables. The portion is too small, it’s should have been large but it’s medium serving, I spent almost $100. I called to make sure that they add sweet sauce and gravy because the food was coming all the way to Suffolk County all the way from Nassau County and the rice no gravy like how do you make that kind of mistake I don’t understand this. They have to pay more attention the chicken was a little burnt , you have to pay more attention the delivery alone with $15.everything is expensive and if you don’t serve the amount to satisfy your customers, you will lose your customers to a better restaurant please stop shorting people just to To cut corners And do right by your customers!!!

Recommended dishes: Small Jerk Chicken

Whoever cooked or prepared this oxtail needs to just start washing the dishes instead. Why are you guys serving undercooked oxtail with nothing but fat on it? Smh. For being one of the most expensive food on the menu, you guys have to make sure this is cooked and prepared properly.

I been a customer for a couple years and I can tell that the portions have gone south. Definitely over changing for the little they give you. Not worth it anymore.

Customer service used to be bad, I visited them recently and you feel welcomed 😊 Best Jerk Chicken!
