Food is so good here. I had the Gnocchi with fresh mozz and pancetta. It was amazing. My friends had the chicken alfredo and fresh tuna both were also amazing. The reason for the 4 stars is the located is not in the greatest area. I did hear they were moving to a better location so yay for that!

This place has got to be by far the worst Italian restaurant that I've ever eaten in. The service was terrible and in no way did we feel welcome in this establishment. We made reservations for a party of 4 on a Saturday night. When we arrived I let the hostess know we were there and told her we'd all be at the bar getting a drink. We approached the bar and all the seats were taken, so we stood behind the full chairs where there was an opening at the bottom end of the bar. The female bartender came over to us, said hello, so I started telling her my order. She then said "I'll be right back, let me see if any of my regulars need a refill first." She then left me and walked up to the other end of the bar asking everyone else if they need a drink. She refilled a few drinks while making her way back down the bar to us. Before reaching us, she stopped at a couple of patrons and while filling their glasses, she started a full on conversation with them while we were still waiting for her. At this point I went back to the hostess and told her we'll take our table now and we'll just order drinks from the table. The bartenders lack of service and not making us feel welcomed cost her at least a $20 tip. Now for dinner. We started with 2 appetizers: an order of greens Morelle and also the fried calamari. The greens looked and tasted very good. The calamari was terrible. It was cold, rubbery, and very chewy. Next for the on trays. I ordered the veal saltimbocca which was way too salty, and the veal medallions were about the size of quarters. This was terrible. I thought this was an Italian restaurant. Two people in our party ordered the chicken francaise and they both said that their meals were far too lemony to enjoy. The last person ordered the shrimp fra diavolo and said the meal was ok. They said it could have used a little more seasoning, but it was edible. I would say stay away from this place unless you are a friend or relative of theirs. They don't make you feel welcome at all. The food is not that good for an Italian restaurant. This establishment is an embarrassment to the Italian restaurants in this area.

One night in Utica. Where to eat after a long day in the road? Feel like some Italian? Try Chesterfields This is not a pizza place or a chain Pasta establishment. This is a nice restaurant with terrific food We shared a huge appetizer of Utica greens -- escarole cooked with Italian meats, Mildly hot peppers, and lots of garlic. Topped with breadcrumbs, the rich plate could have satisfied four nicely. Hot garlic loaf with olive oil accompanied our meal Hubs and I shared a plate of "Little Purses" -- tiny pickets of pasta stuffed with a variety of cheeses and served in an Alfredo wine sauce with peas. Heavenly! If you have room for dessert there are cannoli, gelato, tiramisu, flourless chocolate cake, among other treats. Our waiter was attentive without being bothersome. He made suggestions for pairings and offered advice about reheating our leftovers. We had a wonderful dinner!

We had our rehearsal dinner at Chesterfields - the food was great! But the planning and coordinating with the restaurant was an absolute nightmare. The week of my wedding I did not even know if the dinner was happening. The day before the dinner they told us that the person who put together our estimate was wrong and the price was actually hundreds of dollars more. They do not communicate over email and over all ridiculously hard to get a hold of. I would NOT recommend this restaurant for large group meals.

We heard that Utica was known for greens and chicken riggies, so we thought we'd giver a go on the way home to Canada from Vermont. Greens were outstanding! Chicken Riggies were awesome. Service top notch. Will be stopping by again fir sure.

Great food and very friendly waitress. Food took way too long to arrive. About 1 1/2 hours delay. Also had misplaced our reservation for 6:30 PM on a Friday evening:

I always love my dining experience at Chesterfield's! The staff is very attentive, and efficient; refills appear before your drink is to the 3/4 mark, and ambience can't be beat!

Delicious food!!!! Only thing is, when you're a vegetarian you have no options. You can't even get the greens because they are cooked ahead of time with meat in them. Oh well. The restaurant is very clean and pretty!

My husband and I went to Chesterfields for our Anniversary (Valentines Day). The food was excellent and the wait staff was great. The lighting was a little too dim but other than that everything was great.

The food is very good. Hadnt been there for years and thought the staff was very friendly and atmosphere cozy. They had my favorite wine "Carnival" and the coffee was excellent!

Very delicious as usual. Took my Valentine there for dinner and of course we began with the greens as an appetizer. She had the pasta purses (very good) and I had the filet (couldn't have made it better myself). Always a treat to go there. Local. Great food. Great atmosphere. A+++

They don't like refilling drinks. At the bar the bartender must have looked at our empty glasses a few time and it took 20 minutes for my coke refill at the table. The calamari wasn't properly salted but the greens were great. The chicken francese was perfectly cooked and the hats tasted like they were cooked in unsalted water and precooked and reheated. They also charged me twice for the coke they didn't like refilling.

We went to Chesterfield as part of our trip to the Finger Lakes last weekend. We heard about it through Andrew Zimmer's show and figured if we were that far away from home (we are outside of Philly), we might as well work it in. We were not disappointed. My wife, brother and sister-in-laws stopped in and had a fantastic experience. The service was great (thank you Cory), as was the pacing of the meal. We had plenty of time to enjoy everything and each others' company. Our appetizers were the rice balls and meat balls and boy were they tasty. There was enough food in the entrees to share, and the bartender did a great job on drinks. Sadly, we didn't have enough room for dessert! I don't know if our travels will bring us out that way again, but if we are even close we will make the effort to visit again. Well worth the trip!

This is an update to my 10/02/2017 review. My post was responded to by; Comment from Salvatore B. of Chesterfield Restaurant, asking me to email him with the details of this unfortunate experience. He expressed he would make this right since my 50th birthday celebration was ruined. HE HAS NEVER RESPONDED LET ALONE MAKE THIS RIGHT. This is a very poor way to run your business.

I do not know where to begin. The waiter failed to have us taste the wine when we ordered a bottle of Chianti. I was given a white wine glass. We had to request grated parmigiana or Romano cheese twice. On top of that the sides to the dishes were never served. The portions in the pasta purses was the size of an appetizer. There were so many things wrong I will never recommend nor return there. The sauce on the pasta purses was inadequate. The salmon and shrimp dish also appetizer size. The chicken dish was adequate but please no sides were ever served.
