I loved coming here with my family. Decently priced food and amazing atmosphere. A little wait on the food but it was no problem with a kid playing YouTube complations in the restaurant distracting me. I love this place, and would love to come again if I could. ?Kid-friendliness: It just seems really safe for kids be to be around.

This was my second trip here, and it once again did not disappoint. I had the yucca mofongo with pork and cheese, the first time, and then just a cheese mofongo the second time, and both were super-savory and tasty. (To my mind, the cheese was about as good as the more-expensive all-up mofongo, so you may want to save yourself $4.) It's essentially a volcano of tasty plantains with some flavorful soup over it. The first time, my buddy and I had the pastelitos as well, which were shiny, smooth pastries with a variety of fillings. I'm kind of mad for anything wrapped in dough, so maybe I'm biased, but I was pretty pleased with the texture. The second time, we split a yaroa, which turned out to be fries with cheese topped with a combo of what tasted like mayo and ketchup. (You can apparently have yucca instead of the fries, and next time that's what I'll do.) The ketchup was a bit too much for my sweetie, and I wasn't nuts about it, but the interior was awesome, in a vaguely poutine-y way. I wouldn't know from Puerto Rican food, but our Venezuelan buddy thought everything was on point, and it was certainly all delicious. For whatever reason, the joint was deserted both afternoons I was there, once on a weekday, and once on a Sunday, which mystifies me, as that place oughta be thronged. Service was friendly but slow (dunno how fully staffed they were), and it took awhile to get the food, but it was worth it.

Ho-LEE sheeeeeeet. This spot is the real deal. I guarantee you have driven by this place more than once but you never went it.Food is unbelievably authentic, flavorful, and original.Let me be clear, there are no chips and salsa.....this is not Mexican - it's Dominican.Everything was perfect.

I'd go back just to order their juices made in house. I had the Mango juice, fried tilapia, plantains and house salad. Prices are good, portions are good, and my server was very friendly. Authentic Dominican style restaurant. The music and flavors made me feel like I was on vacation but in the comforts of home. Thank you Mi Casa!

Whether you're a fan of Dominican cuisine or simply looking for something new to try, this restaurant has you covered. The flavors are rich, authentic, and prepared with the utmost care. The portions are generous, ensuring that you leave satisfied. The service at Mi Casa is top-notch, with a friendly and attentive staff that goes the extra mile to ensure your needs are met. They made us feel like valued guest from the moment we stepped in. I personally loved the Morir Soñando (usually made with orange juice…they used passion fruit) it was delicious.Overall, Mi Casa restaurant in Utica, New York, is a culinary treasure that deserves high praise. Mi Casa is a cute little place with friendly service. We ordered the mofongo de pollo and it was filling and interestingly seasoned with a savory garlic sauce. We also ordered the pechuga de pollo caribena, chicken stuffed with plantains and deep fried then served with a white cheese sauce. It was amazing. Crispy and tender. It came with a side of yucca, pleasantly starchy and sweet. Really good food.

If you look like you are black you are not welcomed at mi casa restaurant. They are fully open and I was denied service for no reason by an older lady. My first time ever in this establishment. I do not recommend eating here ! SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH A BUSINESS WHO VALUES THEIR CUSTOMERS!
