I hosted a surprise party for 26 guests for my parents 50th anniversary party and between the venue, the food and the guests it was a 5+star night. Nicole from the catering company was absolutely one of the best event planners I’ve ever worked with. The prices were totally reasonable but I’m used to NYC and San Franciso prices where a bowl of gluten free vegan water will run you 12.99. The portions were HUGE and you guessed it, the age demographic for a 50th anniversary party were so thrilled to have lunch for tomorrow and maybe even the next day (said with thick upstate NY accent). Dylan the head server and Catherine and their bartender were so sweet and playfully refreshing. I can’t remember the bar tenders name but since I happened to make several bar visits I learned his whole life story but not the name. The venue was incredibly accommodating and allowed us to fill the room with memories and moments from 50 beautiful years together. I can’t believe I never went there once growing up in the area, but then again, tractor races and franks and Mario’s pizza were more in for the times. I didn’t find my love of art until I left CNY. Shocking. I can’t wait to go back in the summer to wine, dine, more wine on the terrace after the 10 month arctic deep freeze lifts, and then go pretend I’m a curator from the “big city” secretly judging the art. Until then, terrace cafe is just a cafe. But a beautiful one at that.

Get the Filet! Ask about daily specials and soup. Waiter Dylan is the best server in Utica. See if Chef Bill can make you sweet potato fries.Vegetarian options: I think they have a vegan lasagna and several vegetarian options.Dietary restrictions: They can cook anything for anyone.Parking: Handicap ParkingKid-friendliness: I think they have booster seats and a kids menu.Wheelchair accessibility: A longer roll, but totally ADA approved.

I am astonished that the Terrace Café isn’t rated #1 among Utica’s eateries. Lackadaisical marketing my be the culprit, although that may be a blessing in disguise—if everyone and their crazy uncle descended upon this treasure, it might lose some of its luster. My husband and I were taken here for lunch yesterday. The hours are limited and there is no alcohol served, which may be a deterrent for some. Not for us. I want to go back immediately. The ambiance is charming, and feels like stepping back in time to a more gracious era. We were seated immediately and in the ninety minutes we occupied our table for four, there were only two other parties of two in the dining room. Two in our group ordered burgers, cooked perfectly to the ordered medium and well-done (yuck, but it was reportedly still juicy, due to its having been rested after grilling). The burgers were accompanied by gherkins and the best potato chips I have ever crunched into. My sister ordered the ahi tuna with pearl couscous and I had a medium-rare skirt steak. I loathe tomatoes, so the kitchen kindly substituted a smaller portion of the orange/fennel salad with citrus vinaigrette and this made me ridiculously happy. The food was divine. Absolutely unparalleled in my opinion. We had a birthday among us and a dessert was offered on the house. I selected the flourless chocolate torte and I am still savoring it in my mind. Little puddles of crème anglaise! Fresh raspberries! REAL WHIPPED CREAM, not squirty canned stuff! And if you think banana bread does not belong on a dessert menu, I am here to tell you to think again. The service was as delightful as the food. Diana and Dylan could not have been friendlier or more solicitous. We were also blessed by a visitation from the genius in the kitchen who created our meals with such imagination and care. And if things couldn’t get better—the cost of four amazing lunches, with a soda and an iced tea (sister said it was the best she’s ever drunk) and a non-comped dessert was around $90–a truly astonishing value. I cannot wait to return.

Here's a summary of our experience:ATMOSPHERE- Sophisticated- Jazz music playing in the background. Very nice touch! ??SERVICE- The server was a polished gentleman in manner and dress. His service came with a smile.- The chef is very friendly. It's evident he takes pride in his work and it showed in the presentation of his food as well as the good balance in the condiments.FOOD- The food was comparable to the best food we've had in NYC.- The vegetables were fresh and crisp.- The chicken was well seasoned and the taste was on point! ??OVERALL- I can't wait to come back with friends and family!

Went with my parents, and we had an excellent experience. The decor is elegant and fits the motif of the museum very well, our waiter was very kind and knowledgeable, and the food was very good and reasonably priced. They have a new chef who really knows what he's doing; his menu was creative and each item we had was delicious. He came out to speak with us as well and was very kind and passionate. Overall, we had a great experience and would absolutely recommend going!

We stopped in for a cup of coffee while visiting the museum but looked at the menu and ordered some light food. Turns out they just got a new chef and his new menu has a lot of good things on it, plus the prices are very reasonable. Among other things, the glazed carrots were exceptional. Chocolate mousse was a bit on the sweet side. Being able to eat here really rounded out our trip to Utica beautifully. (Museum is not to be missed either).

The terrace Cafe is extraordinary! The food exceeded all and any expectations, the flavors went together deliciously and my husband's burger was beyond perfection. The lemon bars we had for desert were absolutely heaven in your mouth. The host and server were both incredibly kind, professional and very helpful. I definitely recommend this Cafe, in fact I recommend it 100 times over! Absolutely amazing food and wonderful service. We are so happy we stumbled across this hidden gem ? ❤️

This is a beautiful cafe at Fountain Elms and connected to the museum, in a peaceful, tree surrounded area. The staff are well informed and friendly. There is outdoor and indoor dining. Everthing I've ever had there is delicious and beautifully presented. Ahi Salad is my favorite, and at this cafe you will find the best tomato soup made on planet earth. It's simply a wonderful, unhurried dining experience. I understand there is also a formal tea served, two days notice is required. The menu for the tea is extensive as well, will have to try that one day.

Lovely cafe serving lunch inside the museum. Top notch service and very tasty well made dishes. The establishment obviously cares deeply about quality. Loved it and would highly recommend! Indoor and outdoor dining on a beautiful patio.
