“The Tram,” as the locals call it, is a staple of the Utica dining and entertainment scene. It is the home of casual dining (suitable for all ages) as well as open mic nights, special artist features, and just plain chilling with friends - or alone. This venue is highly prized as being the place where ALL types of people co-exist with barely a notice given. Lawyers, doctors, trades people, office staff, goths, rockers, artists, seniors, and teens sit side by side, as it should be. Dark hair, blonde hair, purple hair, and no hair are all regulars. I was there today for lunch with a friend. The parking is ample, the access ramp assure everyone is welcome, and the service is warm and considerate, though they occasionally get a bit busy, dig in, and put their heads down. The food usually arrives in a very reasonable time - is prepared nicely by real people - and is truly scrumptious. Today’s meal was surprisingly good - I loved it. Our waitress couldn’t have been kinder and more careful with our orders. She was just great. If you’re into this sort of thing, and who isn’t, the über-eclectic decor will keep your eyes busy the entire time you’re there. So much to see. Much of it is designed by the proprietor but there is also a lot of other art on display. Feel free to ask about anything. The proprietor is glad to talk about it all. What an authentic place. I hope you love it.

What a wonderful cafe and coffee house. The inside is hodgepodge in a really delightful way, with its various seating options and wide variety of knickknacks all around. The iced coffee is tasty, as are their muffins, and their tuna melt with chopped olives is delightful. And SO much happens there: readings, open mics, game nights. You really have to keep up with their Facebook page to get a sense of what they have to offer. It’s an embarrassment of riches.

A favorite local spot for breakfast, lunch,. All kinds of non-alcoholic hot and cold beverages, including made-to-order smoothies. Sandwiches, salads, and soups. Lots of choices for sides. Great menu for snacking, too!

Really gorgeous place. Love that there's a big book and game selection. I feel like the customer service was top of the line, very intentional and kind! For me personally, the music was too loud, and because of that it was really hard for me to find a spot where I felt like I could breathe a little better, but I did eventually find one that worked.
Food was great! Matcha was quite well done! Would definitely go again given the opportunity, even though I'd probably use some headphones, lol.

Absolutely amazing place for local creatives to get together and share their ideas and collaborate freely. Love spending time here

This place has always been more than a venue — it’s a living room for Utica’s weird, beautiful, creative heart.

All the food was absolutely amazing as well as the service. We tried the Rachel and the Holy cheese apple and ham Batman sandwiches. Both phenomenal. They have trivia events, a vintage store, a used book store, all the proceeds go to a cat rescue. The music was old timey in the best way, it had lots of warm light, and overall had a homey ambiance.

I love this place. The iced coffee comes with coffee ice cubes! Delicious coffee, good vegan options for food, fun stuff going in all the time. Definitely invested in the community. Go here and feel good!

There's lots of interesting programming here, from book sales for good causes to open mic nights every other Thursday. Grab a local artist's work or stop in for a pop-up tea sale.

Vegetarian options: Very veggie friendly and at least half the menu can be made vegan.

Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegan and gluten-free options, all clearly labeled. They have 0-proof cocktails, too, for imbibing without alcohol.

Parking: There's a modest lot that fills up quickly during peak hours and some street parking nearby.

Kid-friendliness: Everybody is welcome at the Tram, including kids.

Wheelchair accessibility: The main entrance has a prominent wheelchair ramp.

Fantastic vibe, food, and ambience. The coffee was abundant and the large salad with chicken (and extra hots) was delicious. This is a place that should be on every artist's coffee shop list.
