Stopped by on a Monday evening, and even though they had been completely wiped out by a huge event the day before and were technically closed, the owner met me, let me know what he had available, and walked my wife and me to the bar to eat. We got treated to what amounted to a six course gourmet BBQ dinner served up to us with conversation and a great deal of care and pride. Roasted peppers, street corn, pulled pork, slaw, Mac & cheese, and banana pie. Everything was beyond delicious. And I lived in BBQ meccas in the South - his meats are as good as or better. No one in CNY is doing BBQ like this. Highly recommended!!!

What an awesome place. The food is amazing, and the owner/chef was very personable on our visit today. We arrived right at the posted opening time so we were the first ones in there and greeted by the owner. Heard about his unfortunate recent burglary so menu was limited but he still offered many options. I had the pulled pork and wife had hot honey wings - both were delicious and huge portions. Pork was meaty and not fatty at all, smoky and seasoned in a way I've never had before, and a little charred in a few places to give it a good bbq flavor, almost like burnt ends but pork. Wings were spot on with the sauce and smokiness too. Pit beans were so good, not watery like some others I've had elsewhere, and carrot slaw (carrots, cabbage, cilantro in rice wine vinegar) added some acidity which balanced it all out. 11 out of 10...we wish we lived in the area so we could come back again and again.

Beware. When you come here you will be spoiled and no other place will ever satisfy your bbq cravings again. Chef owned and operated. Everything served with a passion for culinary perfection and is over the top spectacular. There are no choices here that are not 10 out of 10. I’ve lived in deep south bbq country and I'd rather come here than any other juke joint, rib shack or “high end” establishment masquerading as down home bbq. Do yourself a favor, the next time you want amazing food, drive to Utica bbq and be ready to have a culinary religious experience.

This place is great! Food is delicious and owner has great service and a great personality! The brisket was amazing and the pulled pork was the best I’ve ever had! The presentation of the food was impressive too! Restaurant space was decorated amazingly and had a great vibe! Will definitely be making a trip to go back!

Best BBQ in the northeast. Trust me, I've been to damn near all of them. This is it. You can tell the chef is proud of his work.

Rumor says the owner made a deal with the devil at the crossroads to learn the forbidden secrets of BBQ, and the devil left full.

Not open maybe they closed early but it’s 6pm, from out of town so not sure I’d definitely make alternative plans if going here
The only thing better than the barbecue is Chance himself. After nine hours on the road, we stopped by - he had just gotten back from the county fair and was closed. But he opened up just for us, served incredible food, and made the end of our day even better with great conversation. Stand up guy and an outstanding chef. You’ll be treated well.

We stopped in from out of town when at a baseball tournament nearby. Happened to not be open but we didn’t realize. Walked in and owner welcomed us and offered to feed us anyway. That surprised me because I’ve never been treated so well at a restaurant. One of a kind experience that my son and I will remember for a lifetime. Great food and a really nice guy who treated us like family. Everything really clean. I would recommend to anyone.

There are great restaurants, and then there are restaurants that are so exceptional that they promise to linger in your memory for a long time. Utica BBQ is the latter. The food and service are superb.

I had the pulled pork for dinner. It was so tender that it just about melted in my mouth! I cannot wait for my lunch tomorrow! Overall everything was wonderful.

Amazing find, traveling back across route 90. Just happened to stop in Utica for the night. Did a quick search of restaurants around and found this cozy, unique Bbq. This will now become a frequent stop! Exceptional food! I cannot express each item we tried was exceptional! The ribs were excellent, the corn on the cob was excellent, and the brisket was excellent! It was the best take on corn and the cob I've had in my life.

We were staying in Utica overnight during a road trip with kids. We saw some of the other good reviews for Utica BBQ so we decided to give it a try. We are DEFINITELY happy that we did. Excellent food and service. Street corn is out of this world! Owner is very kind and hospitable.
My 9 year old daughter says, “If you want good food, I recommend that place.”
