I like it there. It is a laid back bar. Nothing fancy about it or over the top. Just sit and drink and watch the game with out all the riff raff. I don't smoke but I do like they have designated area closed off for smoker who do not want to go outside and endure the freezing cold or hot humid day.
Been for lunch more than once, and hav to say that food is great, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is comfortable. I've tried several dishes and all have been delicious. Excellent place for lunch.
Went to the Varick last night with alumni from Suny IT. It's been almost 20 years and we always went to the Varick for great wings and fun times and nothing has changed! Still great times and the wings are still the best. Most of all we love Steve the owner.
