Been here several times and each time, there’s been someone loudly discussing politics, which is weird and it puts me off to going there. I realize they can’t control that, but it’s weird that it’s happened multiple times. The breakfast is usually good, but I got a piece of cake to go once, which was STALE and there’s no way the guy who cut my cake didn’t realize it. Paid $7 just to end up trashing it. Tables/booths are a little broken down and unstable. Prices are great, though.

Food was surprisingly really good..I'm kinda partial so that was great.(We got breakfast ) The service was fantastic. The building could use some love. But overall 4.5. We love Carrisa!!

Me, my husband and a few friends from my local church had a fellowship get together here. The food was delicious and talk about bread, they have the best garlic bread, bread and butter I have ever had. The staff is very courteous and kind. The only bad side is they close early and don’t have a lot for night staffing. I would highly recommend this place for a nice place to eat and have a social get together for lunch. Service is great.

The waitress was horrible never came back to check on us sat at a table talking with another customer. One tiny cup of coffee was never asked if we wanted refills until she saw we were ready to go !

Ordered roast turkey which was the Sunday special they served some sliced meat that may have contained turkey but tasted old and freezer burned ended up not eating most of it. Salad was browned on the edges . Had acorn squash on the side with was barely warm and served with a sweet cinnamon sauce over it would have preferred it plain. Soup was good only good thing we had. We will not be coming back

Take a break is a quiet diner with plenty of room inside.

The staff is nice and the atmosphere is calm.

I got some cake and cannolis from the dessert counter and took them home. The cannolis were really good. The outside crust wasn't crispy but it maintained its structure and flavor. The texture became similar to a sweet flatbread. I loved it!

The cake I had tasted good. It had all the right ratios of flavor and cake to frosting balance. But one thing made me dislike it.

The cake, unfortunately was pretty dry and stale. It gave me the impression that Take a Break's desserts aren't baked fresh daily. I don't hold that against them, baking can be hard and tedious, especially in prepping. The cakes are really big and pretty too. I'm certain whomever bakes the desserts works really hard. I appreciate their labor.

If I might make a suggestion. Maybe instead of one big cake they can make two smaller ones. Serve one cake, and reserve half the batter to make the second fresh cake later? I'd rather see my favorite desserts sold out and wait for a fresh one. :)

I order the pancakes rolled up with fruit. For some reason. I thought it would be fresh fruit and not a fruit topping or filling for a cake. Now, I know to avoid it unless I’m looking for pie-filling stuffed pancakes. I took them home to my aunt who, despite being like only 100 pounds, has quite the sweet tooth. She ate them right up. I ordered the eggs and bacon for myself instead. This was delicious, I will stick with savory options.

Parking: Lots of parking.

Kid-friendliness: It’s a diner; families are welcome.
