Lovely spot. Convenient to the tway. Will definitely be back
My husband and I got married at The Bond this past June. From start to finish, our day was perfect. We were able to have the whole property for the day - having our ceremony in the lawn, cocktail hour on the patio and dinner in the beautiful dining room.
Ash and his team were fantastic to work with. His help throughout the planning process, the attentiveness of the staff, and the beauty of the venue made the entire day everything we hoped for and more. The food exceeded our expectations and we’ve received so many kind words from our family and friends.
This venue truly is a hidden gem. We’ll always look back on the day with full hearts and we’re so thankful we chose The Bond!
Went to dinner with my husband at the Bond 1786. We had wanted to try it for some time, but decided today was the day. While the staff was nice, friendly, they clearly were struggling. We sat at the bar as we often like to do and ordered a round of drinks. My Tom Collins was good. Rick's Wiskey Souer was okay at best. the appetizers were seriously outstanding. No fault there. I loved the steamed clams! Then there was dinner. I ordered a spinach and goat cheese salad with a vinegarette and medium rare stake. What I received was a vinegarette soup with a blue stake. The fat was not even rendered. The salad also had no goat cheese or tomatoes as advertised. Rick's stake and fries were OK, nothing special, but also drowning in truffle oil. When discussed with the bartender, he promised to make good on my salad that I could not eat. OK, that's fine... but he never did. He was way too far in the weeds to bother with making any drinks for the bar patrons or with addressing the significant shortcomings of the dinner. This is so unfortunate as the clams really were amazing! All in all, we spent $141 on dinner and left to get something to eat at McDonald's. Do not waste your money.
Adorable old inn. Great location. Whether you are passing through or looking to explore Lake George, The Bond is a great location. Clean comfortable rooms. New bathroom with great water pressure. Great value. Highly recommend.
Please clean up route 9n it's a mess with garbage.
I hosted a surprise birthday dinner here for my mom and the space was absolutely beautiful. We had the whole room to ourselves. The service was fantastic & the food delicious. They were very accommodating to all of of needs and requests. Would definitely host another dinner or event here!
My wife and I just stayed here for a night getaway. The room was very cozy and clean overall. My only concern was how icy the parking lot/driveway was. It could have used some scraping and sand. Definitely would stay again.
I've visited many times. Food and drink, no problem. Please allow walk-ins easy access. Multiple times we wanted to access by walking in from the street and we are confronted by obstacles. Front door lighted as access with locked door. No signage to proper access. A side stairway off porch would help.

The room was cold and they would not light a fire in the fireplace. It took over 20 minutes to even get a drink order. Others sat down after us and were served before our dinner order was take. We had 9 people in our party and most of our dinners were warm at best. I believe the manager came to our table when the waitress went to check our bills out and told us if we ever come back they could not do more than 3 checks per table ... Very rude and we will Never go back
Food and drinks: High priced and very slow service. We were there well over two hours. We had a party of 9, but, it still was not acceptable 😡

I will preface this review with the following key points:
1. Everyone who attended our bachelorette party dinner has either worked in the restaurant industry, held client-facing customer service roles, or both.
2. We were extremely patient with all Bond 1786 team members, despite our less than optimal dining experience.
Now for the meat and potatoes of this review - Our group of 13 had made a reservation for Saturday evening at 7:00PM. We were asked, very kindly before our arrival time, if we would be willing to push back our reservation to 7:30PM to accommodate The Bond’s capacity needs - no problem! We were happy to show up later!
Our group walks in a little earlier than 7:30 (~7:23) because we didn’t realize how short the walk from our vacation rental would be. We were politely asked to wait outside so as not to block the entrance - again, no problem!
We were sat at our table on time after this by the host, and a kind waitress greeted us to help pass out menus and fill water glasses. Our drink orders were taken promptly, but after this, our experience quickly became frustrating.
After our drink order was taken, we waited well over 45 minutes for them to hit our table. My group grew increasingly irritated as we were ready with our food orders within 10 minutes after sitting down, but our server asked us if she could put our drink orders in first to give the bartender time to make all 13 drinks, while our server took our large party’s order - again, no problem! The time it took for the drinks to get to our table wasn’t the biggest issue, albeit not ideal, but was the quality of the beverages. As a restaurant manager and bartender myself, members of my party asked if I thought something seemed “off” about our vodka-based martinis and cocktails, and there certainly were problems with all of them upon my tasting. Every one of those drinks I tried (~4) tasted like rubbing alcohol. The dirty martinis clearly contained no vermouth and the request for Grey Goose to be used as their base was seemingly not met. Again, no problem, we simply requested our drinks to be remade.
After this, we were met with hostility by the same woman who greeted us when we came in, with that frustration on the restaurant’s end being directed at the individual sitting at the head of our table - The Bride who we were all there to celebrate. This was unacceptable.
After our drinks came back a second time, still incorrect, we requested they be removed from our bill. Again, no problem for us, we simply just weren’t going to pay $13-$15 (x4) for drinks that we wouldn’t touch. This request was met by the server who also gave us champagne, on the house, as a gesture of kindness.
By the time baskets of bread hit our table, we had been sitting for well over 1 hour. Our food did come out promptly after our server took our order, but not everyone in our party received meat cooked to the temperature they requested, and pasta dishes at the table were unseasoned and flavorless. Not a single person in our party complained about this to any staff member because we were trying to be understanding, and didn’t want to make anything more complicated for our clearly overworked server who was doing her very best to help us.
Once we were ready to depart, we requested our bill - this is where the shock set in. Our party of 13 received a bill that was ~$580. We were happy to pay for the food and drinks, whether eaten/drank or not, but the fact that our bill was still that high after our experience was insulting. I understand automatic gratuity for large parties, but 20% as the standard felt like highway robbery for my group. Personally, I was planning on tipping our server directly in cash for her hard work with well over $100 in cash, because I did not trust that The Bond would tip-out our server appropriately (ex. pooling tips with other staff members and taking away from what she deserved single-handedly)

Wish I could give it more stars, but the cons outweigh the pros:
Dirty bathroom
No hot water
Front door broken
No coffee (only decaf).
Barely any TV channels
Nice location
Historical building is cool
Clean sheets

The Restaurant was upscale. Staff was attentive and helpful.
Food & drinks: We had brunch. The egg dishes were amazing. The others at our table thoroughly enjoyed them. I wished that I ordered one of the egg dishes. The chicken and biscuits with gravy was disappointing. It was a bit overcooked and I had to work too hard to remove the bones and skin. However, the mimosas were large and tasty.

Nice restaurant in small town about 20 min drive from Lake George. Host was friendly and welcoming. We ate there on two occasions and both servers were attentive and professional. Food was good, not the best I’ve had, but good. Drinks were tasty. Dessert was a definite 10 star. Pricing was reasonable for the quality food. Would eat there again.

Extremely underwhelming. The special, pan seared tuna, was seared on one side and barely tan on the other. The avocado in the description was missing, the tomatillo butter sauce was the consistency of puréed baby food and with no seasoning to speak of. It may as well have been made by Gerbers. The mashed potatoes were under seasoned, and the asparagus was overcooked and bland. Hoping to end the night with a NY cheesecake, I was served something inedible, with no cheese taste or texture, but resembling warm Cool Whip, instead. Save yourself from disappointment. Avoid this place.
