Le Quai Bistrot Français offers a great overall dining experience. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is excellent—perfect for a relaxed, classy meal. However, the prices are quite high, and the portion sizes don’t always feel worth the cost. Still, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for quality French cuisine in a lovely setting.

An absolutely wonderful meal there for our anniversary. I had the vichyssoise, which was stunningly good, and the roasted chicken. Wife did the escargot and scallops, which were generously portioned and perfectly cooked (browned, yet delicate). Highly highly recommend this place.

We had dinner there and everything was fantastic. Wine, escargot, lamb, pate’, scallops, Fava beans and bread, desserts. We enjoyed every course as they were served.

Phenomenal place. Food was excellent, well flavored and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable except for one small issue. I couldn't eat all of the lamb shank. I was asked if I would like to bring the leftovers home, including the bone. I said yes to both, but the bone was missing.

Excellent food. Appetizer: The Vischyssoise was delicious. Our main courses of halibut and chicken were amazing! The service fantastic. The owner recommended a wine which complimented our dishes perfectly. We went with the almond and pear torte for dessert. We will definitely be back. My husband can’t wait to try the lamb during our next visit!

It was a big surprise to find a French restaurant in such a low-traffic, quiet part of town. Le Quai Francais Bistrot is a quiet, boutique restaurant that did not feel at all commercial. The place was not trying to attract a lot of attention and wants to retain its intimate feel. The decor is simple but tasteful, and the service attentive from start to finish. The food is unlike any commercial restaurant cooking. It felt like someone with excellent culinary skills, had prepared the dishes in their own home kitchen. Expert, wholesome and just cooked right. We had the cold leek soup and escargot for appetizer, and the lamb shank as our entree. There was a nice wine and mocktail list. We ended with the pear and almond tarte for dessert. All in all, a very satisfying dinner! Will certainly go back, soon!
I was delighted to find out Le Quai was just minutes from Albany. Each member of my party got something different off the menu and each was delighted with the meal they received. Paired with a well-crafted wine selection and friendly welcoming staff, we will certainly return for many more enjoyable meals.

The scallops are always perfectly done. Every entrée I’ve had has been excellent. Great wine list and nice atmosphere . Unlike some other restaurants you can easily talk to your dinner company and not have to shout above music or bad room acoustics..

Wow, what a gem! Who would've thought that there is such fine French cuisine in Waterford. The lamb shank and beef bourguignon were cooked to perfection: falling off the bone levels of tenderness and perfect rendering of fats. The wine selection is also excellent and the staff is very knowledgeable about wine pairings.
We loved our desserts as well, everything is made in-house with fine ingredients. I especially loved the homemade pistachio ice cream with Moroccan pistachios.
Make a reservation! There are only 8 tables and they fill fast.

The food was wonderful, Liz was a fantastic waitress. A gem in Waterford
Absolutely fantastic! We had the escargot in pastry, and I may need to fly back here from Colorado just for that! The beef bourguignon was the best I have ever had! Pleasant atmosphere, and our server, Liz was great! 5 star on everything!
Everything fresh, giant portion size, cosy interior. Of course they speak French. Formidable. Je reviens avec mes amis.
Easily one of the best and most underrated restaurants in the area. I need to try everything on the menu.
