Had a wonderful evening here with the family. The calamari was divine; super crispy on the outside and nice and tender on the inside with great flavor. The addition of the peppers with the calamari was on point. The burger looked delicious and the beef dip was great as well. The corn beef and cabbage was lacking. The staff is nice - the bartender who works there a lot is good, and I’ve always had good drinks there. The food is oddly hit or miss. For the most part, it’s good - their fries and gravy are great, and their more “staple” dishes tend to be pretty good. However, we have had some really bad dishes a couple times. They once served a chicken salad with almost inedible chicken on it, and their Friday fish fry special was incredibly bland and nearly cold. It’s leaves me with...
I had the putene. They have sliced potatoes instead of fries. It was really good. And the shepherd pie is good also. My partner had the prime rib sandwich with augu. He said it was really good also. The portions are large, and we both took half home.
