There was a line at the door for table seating ! I looked and the counter area was all but empty ! So my brother and I went to the counter area to set.Like all places you go to the counter if you dont want a table.The hostess came over and said we had to go back to get in the line ! I m already seated ! There was about a 12 empty seats at the counter !I have never been to a diner in my life ,where the counter was empty and asked to go wait in line to set at the counter ! Really not in my life time !My brother and I got up and walked out of the diner ! The diner lost 2 meals plus tips ! I had a friend told me the same thing happened to him ! he also walked out ! Counters have always been a staple if you dont want a table ! Never again ...your loosing alot of $$$ trying to act like your a 5 star diner !

Walked in for a breakfast with friends but could not be seated as everyone had not arrived. I understand not wanting to use seating that is limited but on this particular morning there were only five tables occupied and we requested the large booth for our group. Suffice it to say they had no intention of seating us without everyone being present. They actually got quite snippy with us and the hostess actually walked away mid conversation. Well we quickly texted the remaining members of our group and elected to go to Cracker Barrel. We were seated promptly with the most lovely waitress tending to our every need. We actually stayed for nearly three hours. We had a wonderful breakfast and visit with old friends. Thanks for nothing Shorty’s Place!!!

haven’t been here in years so decided to stop for breakfast on a Saturday morning.place was very busy for a lack of good diners in Watertown. I was seated right away and my order came out pretty quick considering how busy they were.the eggs and link sausage were good but the toast is coated with some nasty tasting whipped oil also called margarine.why can’t they use real butter?? I tried a half order of biscuits and gravy that wasn’t that good.prices are very reasonable though.Watertown needs another good diner!!

I am Not sure what is people eating here and raving about it. I ordered the fish fillet and the fish was actually hard. Yeah, hard and at the same time flaky. What kind of fish is hard and flaky at the same time? Fries are breaded nothing special here. Coleslaw was good, service sucked, really sucked. 26 minutes to take my order and 25 minutes to receive the food. Short staffed? Who knows. I will not be going back. My money is better spent elsewhere. In the meantime if you all share what you eat that you have it 4.4 stars, please post here.

Was greeted when we walked in the door. Asked if we preferred a booth or table. We ordered the Friday night fish special. It did not disappoint. The fish was cook perfectly. Fries were crispy. Dinner was only $12. Was definitely worth it.
