Older Inn but clean. It does have a charm to it, just know it’s not a brand new space. Service was great! We felt extremely welcomed and accommodated. Ice cream is delicious and one of the main reasons we wanted to try this place to begin with. Conveniently located in Watkins. Within walking distance of all downtown Watkins’s Glen restaurants and shops and fast drive to the Seneca Wine Trail. Would definitely stay here again!

I've been here several times for ice cream only, and it sure doesn't disappoint! I haven't had a bad scoop yet...and it's much cheaper than Ben & Jerry's down the street. Support local businesses!

Yummy ice cream. Some hot food available too. Pleasant seating space. Bathroom on premises. Pleasant staff. Only the creamery was visited during this review.

I can't speak to the Inn portion of this location, but the Ice Cream is a must have in the area. We walked right in and was greeted with a friendly smile and joyful conversation that's hard to find these days. The ice cream was some of the best I've had and the prices for the ice cream are amazing. Overall well worth the visit and I will return next time I'm in Watkins Glen!

I stayed overnight on 11/18/23. Woke in the morning to find bed bugs. We asked for a reduction or refund to reimburse the costs we will now face treating our luggage to avoid transferring the bugs back to our home. They denied the request. I would be willing to take this review down if they resolve the situation correctly. Pictures taken.Update: Reading other reviews and their responses, the owner never takes financial responsibility for their faults. Owner is calling my claims false. Says they were ants, and that a Professional Pest Inspection report is available, stating they were not bed bugs. See attached images and the blood spots on the sheets.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!!! SO OUTDATED AND DIRTY!!!!! THE OWNER PHIL WAS EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. WHEN WE VIEWED THE ROOM, AND WERE EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED AND DISSAPPPOINTED WITH IT, HE JUST CLEARLY STATED THAT HE WOULD NOT REIMBURSE US OUR MONEY. DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY ANYONE WOULD WANT UNSATISFIED CUSTOMERS AT YOUR PLACE!!!! DID NOT EVEN CARE THAT MY HUSBAND EXPLAINED TO HIM YHAT HE IS ASTHMATIC AND COULD NOT STAY IN SUCH A DISGUSTING PLACE!!! CLEARLY STATED THAT HE DIDN'T CARE!!!!MY GUSBAND AND I HAVE BEEN TRAVELING FOR 29 YEARS, AND YET HAVE TO SEE A PLACE LIKE THIS!!!!

I can't comment on the inn as we came for the ice cream only. The ice cream is a must have. I had the vanilla peanut butter. It's fluffy, not too sweet, and so good. A top ice cream I've ever had. The owner(?) Told me that it's a family recipe and has won many awards. The old build is also very neat. Definitely give it a stop.

I was happy with this 2 star hotel, I only stayed for couple of nights whilst driving through the region and mostly picked this for location and price.Location is great, very close to Watkins Park for walking and close to the lake and town, all within walking distances. The prices were reasonable. The place is a bit outdated, the rooms are reasonable but need a bit of a refresh.Overall though, I thought it was a reasonable choice.

BEWARE, THEY HAVE BEDBUGS!!! I want to start off by saying we were SO excited for our stay at the Colonial Inn. We arrived 2 hours early, and the owner, Phil, allowed us to check in early. We dropped our things in room #6 (in the building in the back) and set off to explore the town. After dinner, we headed back to get some ice cream from the creamery, which was pretty good. We headed back to our room to unwind, and when we got into bed, we noticed quite a few red/brown bugs. Immediately suspecting bed bugs, we called the contact phone number and reported the problem. Phil answered and said he'd be over immediately to inspect. After 10 long minutes, he finally arrived and declared these bugs were "fuzz" and "tree bark bugs." After some googling, we were confident they were bed bugs, and when we tried to show/explain, he became very aggressive and rude. Feeling attacked and speechless, we left the room to let him and his staff change the sheets and vaccum. Once they finished and left, we went back and examined the bed. The mattress seemed ok, but when we got down to the underside and box spring, you could see CLUSTERS of bed bugs and dark spots alike. We packed our stuff, got in the car, and went in search of another hotel. We will never get over the owner's rude, dismissive, and aggressive attitude. This could have been handled completely differently, and we could have had a great stay, but unfortunately, that's not the way things happened.

Room was ok. The bed creaked and squeaked when one of us moved and the mattress wasn't the best. It was clean and it was within walking distance of several activities. Didn't see anyone to checkout with at 10 am.

Great location in downtown Watkins Glen! Close to good restaurants and the hiking trail. Check in/out was confusing as there is no front desk, however Phil was a great help in getting us to our room. Clean and quiet rooms-we would totally stay there again!
