The Bakery at ML Cakes and Catering

In April 2026 we had a need for an indoor venue and catering for a post-funeral services event in Wayland. Although a native, I had left long ago and I was coordinating this from 600 miles away. Melissa and her catering business were recommended to us by the venue, and it was a perfect match. We were impressed every step of the way as we looked to serve about 50 people.

Procuring / providing services in small town America can be challenging (for clients and for the businesses) so I'm pleased to give 5 STARS + to our catering experience. Melissa is a solid communicator and was timely in her responses. Her culinary education and experience shown through on the day of the event. The variety of her offerings was impressive. She is easy to work with; she was flexible and creative and is extremely hard working. No attitude, no drama. Her prices were VERY reasonable/fair. She was very generous in that I know she provided more food than we ordered. We and the attendees were extremely impressed with the notable offerings. The food and the desserts were perfect and the day came off without a hitch despite a big rain she had to work with. Thank you Melissa!

A great little place to stop in and grab something before jumping on the highway or heading to the park.

My husband was working in the area and found this wonderful bakery. He brought home some cupcakes. They were all delicious but the raspberry ones were fabulous.

Grabbed some fresh bread 🍞 and coffee ☕ was great little spot!!

Only reason I gave 4 stars is they were almost out of food so I did get something I wouldn’t have gotten so we could have a bigger breakfast. Two of the four pastries were amazing.

Best cake tasting ever! Melissa is a wonderful baker and her bakery is so cute. She was friendly, and made it very easy to talk to her about my needs for my specific diet needs. She answered every question we had and helped us with our menu for catering our wedding. She became our number one pick for cake and catering all in one! She will always be our go to for our bakery/ catering needs! Well done Melissa!!

A small unassuming placd with a diner vibe in the best way, the best French toast I've had in a while-possibly ever- made with their own in house bread. Also tried the home fries and bacon, all perfectly cooked. Molasses cookie was good too, bought a selection of baked goods to take home for later too. Owner was running the register and greeted several customers by name, just a really good small town place. I was just passing through but I'll definitely stop if I come this way again!

I had never been here before and ordered the Father's Day package. We celebrated today ( Sat.). The food was amazing! The brisket was melt in your mouth tender and had amazing flavor, the pork was also so tender and the bbq sauce they sent very tasty. They sent amazing rolls. The baked beans and Mac and cheese were great! And let's not forget get the brownies...delightful! Reasonable price! Highly recommend!

Finally tried the shrimp tacos! Beyond good, EXCEPTIONAL! Loved the combination of flavors. Thank you!
