Fine but not the best. I've gotten their lo mein before and it's edible, but today I ordered tofu with veggies and the tofu was rotten.
Pretty solid general tso's chicken for a surprisingly cheap price for lunch. Only complaint was that the breading for the chicken was too much, hard to detect the actual chicken. Sauce was on point, rice was good, wontons in the soup were good.
This is a take-out place only. You can't sit in a dining area for dinner.
My husband and I have a normal place but they were closing so we wanted to try something else since we both really wanted Chinese. I did a quick google search and went off the top choice and the fact that Spring Garden was the top rated choice we decided to give it a try.
I should have read the other reviews.
To start, my husband called in our order and once he was off the phone he said I have a bad feeling about this. But we’ll see. He normally orders won ton soup instead of a eggroll but it was not an option.
I walked in and it was not very friendly. There was one table in there with a cooler and nothing in it. There were a stack of boxes on the other side, I am assuming it was spare supplies but having that in the entrance was not very nice looking.
I wasn’t greeted, and no hello how are you. No thank you have a good night. Nothing. No hospitality at all. I took the food home and was excited to eat- until I opened the containers.
The chicken looked grey in color. I told my husband I didn’t feel comfortable eating it. I took two bites of chicken and there was just a nasty taste in my mouth. I moved to the lo mein I ordered. It was so bland and dry. The chicken, if that’s what you want to call it, tasted like it was premade and left out and then refried. The sauce was so gelatinous and everything was stuck and clumped together.
We needed up throwing out all of the chicken and I refried the rice and lo mein and added my own flare to it. We didn’t eat half of the rice or lo mein because then I looked at reviews and didn’t want to risk the fact that so many other people got sick off this food.
A waste of $30. Will not return. I do not recommend Spring Garden. We did not get sick like other reviews but I’m not sure we ate enough to be sick. Very disappointed.
I did try to call the restaurant for a refund or a fresh meal and they did not answer the phone.
Decided to try for the first time, ordered the most common dish Sesame Chicken. In no way, shape, or form what I was given resembled chicken. Opening up a few pieces the color was Grey and gelatinous. My only thought was it must be old, poor grade meat left sitting out to get that consistency. Threw away in fear of food poisoning but shame on them for allowing that.
I have ordered from here a few times with my family. The first time there was a long hair in my food!! Right across the top! I called, complained and they remade my food fresh and gave me a refund. Ok so let’s try this place again. Also it’s super close to my home and there is not a lot of Chinese options in Webster. So ordered a few more times. Simply dry food. The customer service people are not friendly at all. This final time there was another hair. I am done with this place!!!
Best Chinese food I’ve had in years
The garlic chicken was disgusting. It tasted like unknown meat. Awful. Flemy.
The sweet and sour chicken was OK. Good sauce.

I love the spring rolls, won ton soup and steamed chicken with mixed veggies, and my mother orders the sesame chicken that comes with broccoli which most places charge extra for! I’ve never had a bad meal here, and the poultry is always fresh and not “rubbery” like other places. I don’t order Chinese from anyplace else!!
