My husband and I had a lot of questions to ask when we entered this awesome bakery. We were specifically looking for pareve cakes but were unsure of sizes and how large a cake would feed how many. Jackie was extremely helpful in assisting us and answering all of our questions. She was kind, patient and extremely insightful. We did tell her manager how fantastic Jackie was but we want everyone to know as well!!

I have been going to this bakery me and my family for over two
Decades. I had not been in a very long time and decided to come by and get a few cakes and pastries for bdays. When I came
In the lady at the counter seemed annoyed. I was the only customer at the time. I
Told her I’d call
Her when I was ready to choose since she seemed annoyed off the bat. I was ready and had her grab a few cakes and pastries. On one cake
I wanted her to write something. She huffed and puffed. She did everything with an attitude. I almost didn’t buy my stuff because of her. I was nice and pleasant but she would make any customer want to leave . She even basically slang my bag over to
Me and I got home my cake was broken and one of them not even fresh. She didn’t even tell me the total when I asked she said can’t u see the screen? Never again will

You really can’t beat this place. It’s a classic on Long Island! They have an amazing selection, plus a large dairy free and sugar-free cookies and cakes too for dessert or a quick treat! Not to mention great doggie treats too.

My family has been purchasing cakes here for years. They are WONDERFUL every time. Everything here is delicious especially their fudgey chocolate icing and chocolate ganache. Riesterer’s cakes have been a part of many of my family’s events and fond memories, so it only made sense to ask them to make my wedding cake. Tom the decorator did not disappoint at all. He was so kind and helpful and made this beautiful show cake for my wedding last year, even making the top layer gluten free by request. I HIGHLY recommend this bakery to everyone.
Dietary restrictions: Very helpful with gluten free.

I purchased 3 pies. One apple, one pumpkin, and one coconut custard. They all sucked!! Honestly, just go to stop and shop it was 10000% better and a quarter of the price!!!

$28 lb for chocolate covered Oreos is obscene. Diet chocolate gave severe stomach distress due to the excessive malitol used. $28 lb for chocolates us crazy. Never coming back. There are better choices locally.

It's a shame that I have to write this because generally their products are top notch, but service has always been iffy and now that they are accepting online orders it's been amplified a lot. I'm a long-time customer and I've always gone into the store in person. They make a lot of mistakes that I catch, like grabbing the wrong item even though I just clearly stated the one I wanted, or forgetting to hand me something I just paid for if it's a large order. Well, yesterday I tried ordering online via DoorDash, and guess what? Without me there to intervene, the mistakes happened. I placed an order for two items: 1 pound of rainbow cookies, and 1 pound of brownies with no nuts. My order arrived and the rainbow cookies weren't there! So, off the bat half the order was missing. Then I open up the brownies to serve to my company (I ordered this as a treat for some company I had over). We bite into them, and they have nuts! Luckily none of us were allergic, we just don't like them, but this could have been a HUGE safety issue! Nut allergies are serious. So next, I reported the issue to DoorDash and they gave me the option to re-place the order at no cost. I did so. The dasher arrives at Reister's and is waiting there for almost 10 minutes. I then get a call from Reister's asking if my order was a duplicate. I said no and let them know what happened, and they said, "Oh, okay because your driver has been waiting here for a long time and we thought it was an invalid order." What? Why not call me right away. It sounds like they were arguing with the driver and they finally called me because the driver (rightfully so) would not give up. So, then another 10 minutes pass and my order is cancelled. I call them up, pretty furious, and they said they had to cancel because they were out of the brownies. The issue is they cancelled the free replacement order. So now I've still paid for the first order which was not fulfilled in any way, and I have nothing to show for it except for incorrect brownies. I ask if they can simply send over 2 pounds of rainbow cookies, then. They tell me no, because they'd need a new order and that I'd have to go through DoorDash, and that they already sent the driver away. What a disappointing answer. You made the mistake, so maybe the manager gets in the car and hand delivers it with an apology? Maybe do ANYTHING except for saying it's not your problem. And at this point I can't report the issue on DoorDash again to get a refund because the system sees that it's already been addressed by placing a new order (which was cancelled). So, I had to call them up, speak to a rep, and then finally get a credit to place a new order. Then I place a new order for just 2 pounds of rainbow cookies. It finally gets delivered, but it's now an hour and a half after I placed that very first order. By that time, half my company had left and the whole thing was a moot point. This was an infuriating experience.

I was in a rush to get some cake for a birthday dinner and called to see what they had available. I spoke to a sweet and helpful woman named Jackie who double checked on what flavors they had left. It was my first time ever purchasing from here and I will say that it was not be my last! Their desserts are phenomenal.
