Riesterer's Bakery was recommended to me by the restaurant where my daughters Bridal Shower was being held I was very impressed with the customer service I received when placing the order for cake I didn't have a picture of a specific design but explained my vision and they decorated it perfectly! The cake was delicious and the raspberry mousse filling was incredible If I lived in the area this would definitely be my "go to" bakery!

We have been ordering our cakes from Riesters for years. They are delicious and beautiful. The staff is so kind and helpful. Yesterday, we were in a bind with getting a custom cake with less than 24 hour notice and they took the order and said it was no problem! Valerie was so wonderful in helping my Mother. We can’t recommend Riesters enough.

I've been a fan of this place for years, even visiting some of their other locations decades ago as a kid. I visited with my wife and my son so that he could pick out his birthday cake for his 7th birthday (on the exact day). He picked out a cake with vanilla cake and chocolate pudding inside. We had dinner with our family of 4 and his 2 Grandparents and came home for this birthday cake. The chocolate pudding was sour, smelled funny, and was lumpy. Each of us agreed and didn't eat it. Very disappointing for us, but especially for my son.The next morning I brought the cake back and spoke with the "manager" about the situation. After smelling the cake and jamming 2 fingers in, her response was "yeah it's starting to go bad." It wasn't starting, it WAS bad.Next she says, what can we do, can I get you another cake? I explained that his birthday was the day before (and he picked it out himself!) and this particular day was his kids party and didn't need another cake. She actually said "do you want to get the family together for cake again?" This obviously doesn't make sense considering his birthday was the night before, and should not have even been an option.This was awful customer service. The questions were as follows 1) do you want another cake 2) or do you want store credit. I replied with asking for a refund. There was no attempt to make things right whatsoever, also knowing that my 7 year old son was disappointed and picked the cake himself. I took my money and was easily allowed to walk out the door. She should have said "here are some cookies" or here is your money back and additional store credit.This is a shame considering the other ladies behind the counter have been nice, and previous things we've purchased like buttered rolls or donuts were delicious.

I ordered a 1/4 sheet cake for Super Bowl Sunday 2024 and it was horrible! I’ve been going to Riesters since 1970 and the last two cakes I got were way below par. The cake had a grainy consistency, the whip cream icing taste artificial and the filling was not the mixed filling of the past, and the cake was bland and tasteless. The same holds true for the cake I ordered in April, which had fresh banana & strawberry filling. I don’t know if they are using lower quality ingredients or inexperienced bakers, but whatever the reason it’s an insult to the Reister name. I will not be doing business with them again.

This is our go- to Bakery. Love their pastries, rolls, breads, cookies & cakes. Throughout the years, they have made all types of cakes; wedding, baby shower, birthday, etc. Never disappointed. When out-of-state guests visit, we must pick up a selection of their mini pastries & tarts. Everyone wants a seeded rye loaf to take home. For Christmas, we must order the custard creme filled crumb cake. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the excellent customer service. I highly recommend this establishment.

I ordered a gluten-free 90th Birthday cake recently. It was not only the most delicious cake, but also absolutely beautiful. The real whipped cream frosting and whipped cream filling with real strawberries was scrumptious! Everyone at the party loved it!! Riesterers never disappoints!! I've gone there for decades, and I highly recommend this bakery in West Hempstead!!Dietary restrictions: They responded to my request for a totally gluten-free cake. It was delicious!!
