For the most part it's a very decent place to get good meat. Appetizing items go bad quickly I stopped buying it there. Bad experience with Hawaiian Chicken Burger. Nothing seemed to be binding it together and it melted all over my grill fell through the slats last time I buy that there.

Just bought a salad here; it smelled awful when I opened it up and I realized there was bacon in it and the bacon was rancid. Immediately went back to the store to return it and they don’t accept returns, but will give you store credit. Also very expensive. Bought 3 items and my total came out to $26.47. I compared the price of my 2 items, aside from the salad, to Stop and Shops prices and S&S was cheaper. You are better off going to a different supermarket.

I love this place. The salads are huge and delicious. I think they are a good value for what they are. I get 4 servings from them! I can get all of my favorite things here and it's convenient. The prepared foods are great. Prices are high but worth it for the quality and convenience.

Way overpriced. And with those prices you do not think you should see several cuts of day old beef on shelves with large green streaks. MAKES me hesitate to eat their wide variety of already prepared foods. The extra star was for wide variety baked goods. Won't go back. Saw pas ntry items you could get half the price in a regular supermarket.

This stuff is extremely friendly and I love the variety of international suites and food. Thank you so much for the smiles

Wildly overpriced even compared to all of the other overpriced grocery stores in the area. How can a supermarket justify charging $12 for a dozen eggs or $8.99 for 3 frozen potato skins?
Go to Walmart and pay 1/2 price. That is unless you’re too fancy and important to be seen shopping at Walmart.

Excellent, catering and customer service. Thanksgiving catering exceeded our expectations. The staff could not have been any nicer when picking up the catering. They even walked everything out to our car despite how busy they were. Highly recommend.

You’re hiring the wrong people. Your employees are after the customers.

As a regular customer of Southdown Market, I've always appreciated the convenience of having a local store close to my home. Unfortunately, my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed and concerned for the safety of others. Last weekend, I purchased a premade sandwich labeled as "Chicken Cutlet Mozzarella" to enjoy with my family at the beach. On the back of the packaging, the ingredients list mentioned basil pesto in small print. Being severely allergic to nuts, I immediately called Southdown Market to clarify whether their pesto contained pine nuts.

Despite my efforts, the Southdown Market location I called did not answer the phone. I then reached out to the Smithtown location, where the staff was extremely helpful and assured me that their pesto did not contain pine nuts. However, they also informed me that they would contact the West Islip location to confirm. To my shock, I discovered that the West Islip Southdown Market does use pine nuts in their pesto. Nowhere on the ingredients list was there any mention of nuts, which is a serious oversight considering the potentially life-threatening nature of allergies.

When I visited the store today to address this issue, I found that the ingredients list had not been updated to include the presence of pine nuts, as I was previously told it would be. The manager I spoke with was incredibly dismissive and insensitive to the severity of my concern, even going so far as to laugh and sarcastically ask, "Have you ever had pesto?" This response felt like a slap in the face, given the seriousness of my allergy.

As a result of this alarming experience, I can no longer trust Southdown Market to provide safe and accurate product information. I will not be supporting this business in the future, and I strongly urge anyone with food allergies to exercise caution if considering shopping here. Safety and transparency should be a top priority for any food establishment, and Southdown Market has failed on both counts.
