Rolling Hills Estate Winery is the sort of place that leaves you dreaming about it for months and years after your visit. Nestled in the heart of the Champlain Valley of New York AVA, on the shores of Lake Champlain and just across from Vermont, Rolling Hills is the perfect place to slow down and spend time with friends and family.

My wife and I had the good fortune of attending one of the seasonal group dinners. With weather in our favor, we sat outside the tasting barn at long decorated tables, the campfire flickering and crackling across the path, the lake breeze gently cooling our necks. We were served beautiful and delicious courses prepared by a delightful chef, whose dedication to detail and exuberance for craftmanship were evident both in the meals he and the staff served as well as his descriptions of what we were about to eat and drink.

Perhaps it is what we drank that shined the brightest. The wine was produced just a few feet from where we sat, with most if not all of the grapes grown on Rolling Hills' vineyards. La Crescent, St. Croix, and Marquette Appasimento were my favorites, and I walked away having purchased several bottles. Drinking them at that dinner, surrounded by cheerful people and the forest, was like savoring a love letter penned by the Adirondacks.

We had the opportunity to learn more about Rolling Hills' wine and its winemaking process. The winemaker, Dan, happily showed us around the winery. We learned about the AVA (American Viticultural Area) and the grapes and terroir that represent it. We were impressed by his passion for and knowledge of winemaking, which seemed inspired by ancient practices. Growing grapes and making wine in an environment like the Adirondacks must be brutally challenging, but Dan's pioneering spirit and pursuit of excellence seem like the right combination to succeed.

Missy and her team have done such an incredible job with Rolling Hills. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome like family. My only regret is that we left too soon. Thankfully, though, we have these memories and a few bottles of wine to soothe us and remind us that truly happy moments in life do exist.

We attended a wine tasting at Rolling Hills, and the wine, food, and overall presentation were nothing short of spectacular! The wine produced by Rolling Hills is unique, refreshing, and absolutely delicious. Additionally, the staff and the winery were extremely generous and accommodating. You really get the impression that everyone working there is truly passionate about what their doing. I would 100% recommend visiting this lovely little farm and winery - you will not be disappointed!

Rolling Hills Estate Winery - what an oasis in the North County. Such a relaxed time hanging out on the porch of my townhouse; enjoying a cocktail or wine at the tasting barn; meals with new friends; strolling the grounds of the farm and vineyards; kayaking on the lake. Truly a special and unique place. Relax - Unwind!

We stumbled upon a gem this past summer when we planned our holiday at Rolling Hill Estates. My husband shared their website while planning our annual family holiday with my brother and family and the rest is simply history. We have travelled much and the two weeks that we escaped to this tranquil space that provided everything we needed to recharge and simply enjoy beauty amidst equally beautiful people was as close to perfection as could be possible. We met Missy first, a bundle of sweet energy who started the process of what would continue for the 14 days that were ahead. Meeting Dan shortly thereafter was the topper as well as Caleb, our wine ambassadors. From freshly prepared delicious meals, tours of their vineyard, farm, and the beautiful surroundings, wine tasting adventures, hiking, kayaking and just the genuine hospitality that was so easily shared by all staff and the owners of this jewel tucked so beautifully near the Adirondack mountains, we honestly have counted this holiday as one of our very best. I will always remember our stay as a lifetime special treat that we hope we get to enjoy again in the near future. Thank you Rolling Hills!GP

We stayed at the RHEW for two weeks in August, and I must say, it was one of the best, most relaxing, while at the same time, exciting vacations ever! What made it stand out for me was the combination of activities, amenities, and most of all - the staff and owners who make you feel like family and friends. We consider ourselves to be well-traveled, but I have not come across a group of such humble, knowledgeable, and openly friendly people. At first, we joked it must be something in the Adirondacks water, but over the two-week period we realized that it was exemplary management reflecting hospitality at its best, and a dream actualized by the owners. We spent the two weeks: relaxing on the privately staffed beach, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, playing tennis, basketball, cornhole, biking, hiking, exploring trails, wine tasting and much more. We also took the Essex ferry to Burlington, VT for a day of shopping and sightseeing. If you are looking for a vineyard, farm, simple yet luxurious oasis experience on Lake Champlain with great food and wine, and the best of staff, look no further.

My family of 9 had the most amazingly relaxing vacation at Rolling Hills. Everything was a 10/10. The townhouse was beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we needed. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out and be comfortable. The views of the lake from the porches were spectacular, and we witnessed beautiful sunrises and even a rainbow over the lake. We vacationed with 2 sets of grandparents who loved the golf carts, walking paths , nightly bonfires and fabulous bartenders who took care of us each night. The 5 course meal on Saturday prepared by Chef Vittorio was absolutely delicious ,and we all agreed the eggplant milefoglie was one of the best dishes we ever ate. My children took advantage of all Rolling Hills had to offer and biked all over the property, milked the cows, fed the baby calf, gardened, fished and kayaked all day long. We loved the vineyard tour by Dan and wine pairings and tasting by Caleb and even got to take part in the grape harvest. Chef Rose spoiled us each morning with a delicious breakfast. The fresh vegetables and meats provided kept us well fed. Melissa and the entire staff worked seamlessly to ensure we had the best time ever. Rolling Hills offers something for every age group.

Rolling Hills was a great place to have our two week annual family vacation. Nine people and two dogs fit perfectly in the house, with our favorite room being the porch where we played games, eat lunch, held happy hour or just relaxed staring at the beautiful lake views. Most of our days were outside though, exploring the property, paddle boarding, hiking (near by Adirondack peaks), playing tennis and hanging out at the communal bonfire. The most unique and memorable part of the vacation though was the dining experience. The meals were incredible - delicious, abundant, healthy & local (I must have gained at least 5 lbs.). Most of the ingredients actually came from the farm, which was eye opening for my urban nieces. I especially appreciated the gluten free, dairy free, egg free, coffee cake which was made daily and always the first thing to go - Thanks 'Chef R'.The wine tastings and vineyard tours were also a highlight, as we learned so much about wine (growing, making & drinking it), as well as the Adirondack culture and surrounding landscape. It really made us fall in love with the place and we could do it all together, which was the best!Lastly, the RH owners, associates and staff were all so kind, personable and attentive. This Farm to Stay establishment is one of a kind and a place we will definitely return!Thank you!!!

Where to even start?!?!? From the moment we met Dan at the gate to the moment we drive through the gates for the last time we were living in a dream wonderland. The property is pristine. The mix of vineyards, woods, farmland, barn life, and the lake exceeded our expectations. Our townhouse was perfect for our crew of 6 adults and 3 kids (under the age of 6). Mind you, we came during the peak of a heatwave and the staff made sure to have air conditioners prepared for us…trust me they were needed! The kitchen is fully stocked and the charcoal grill on the patio was perfect for our daily cookouts. The daily meat list to choose from was never-ending and they cooked up perfectly. There was never a full moment. We fished off the dock, went kayaking and canoeing, the kids played on the beach, and we can’t forget helping farmer Matt with the barn chores! The wine tour was great and the tasting was even better. Nightly s’mores at the tasting barn with a cocktail from the bar was a great way to end the evenings. We loved that it was a car-free property so having the golf carts to get around were very convenient and the kids loved taking turns driving them around. The best part was the attention that the staff gave to each and every one of us. They would stop from whatever task they were doing and chat with us and check if we needed anything. I can honestly say that we will be coming back to Rolling Hills Winery and making this a regular home away from home! Thank you to all of the staff for making this trip a memorable one!!!

I just returned from speaking at a retreat at Rolling Hills Estate in beautiful Westport, NY. The entire experience was exceptional in every way. Melissa met me at the gate upon my arrival and immediately impressed me with her sincere desire to provide a relaxing and enjoyable week. The accommodations are beautiful, comfortable, and well-equipped for just about any need. These folks embody the "farm to table" lifestyle with an abundance of fresh produce, milk/cream, eggs, meat, etc. Our meals were delicious, featuring 5-star cuisine, often accompanied by amazing wines. I especially enjoyed morning coffee on my screened-in porch where I listened to the loons on Lake Champlain and observed deer playing just off my porch. My morning walk often took me to visit the horses and sheep. The golfcarts and bicycles are a lovely touch! Every staff member I encountered was friendly and eager to make my stay enjoyable. They succeeded! I hope to return soon with my family! Thanks to everyone for a wonderfully relaxing week!

We had an absolutely wonderful time during our stay here. The setting is breathtaking and around every corner is more encouragement to just breathe and relax. The staff are wonderful. Personal, excellent service is threaded through every encounter. We cooked daily breakfasts of farm fresh eggs and bacon. One morning, we used homemade sourdough bread, the farm fresh full fat milk, and Rolling Hills Farm made maple syrup, to make french toast that was absolutely amazing. There are also fresh bakery goods for breakfast each morning at the main activity barn.Saturday night dinner is not to be missed! The food, setting, and conversation all come together to create a once in a lifetime experience.Perfect place to take a step back, slow down, and relax!

The people are the biggest asset at Rolling Hills Farm and Winery. We absolutely loved our time here and felt very cared for in every way. The produce, eggs, milk (and meat for others…we are vegetarian) were as fresh and plentiful as could be! The farm is a lot of fun and the vineyard tours with Dan and the tastings with Caleb, their expert sommelier, were exceptional. The gourmet Saturday dinners were top notch and could have been at any NYC restaurant. And we fell in love with our bartender, Charles, as he created the perfect cocktails nightly. The facilities themselves haven’t quite caught up with their vision for a top tier rustic resort but the owner and staff seem eager to make the changes that will make this a reality in the near future. This place is a diamond in the rough, but a jewel nonetheless.

My family of five took a trip to Rolling Hills back in August. I mean WOW, if I could give this place 10 stars I would!!! My three boys still talk about it every day! From the moment you arrive, you immediately feel like you are in a place of true rest and relaxation. We absolutely loved everything about this incredibly beautiful and well-maintained property. You honestly feel like you are in a different world!! If you are looking for a place to relax, unwind and de-stress, this is the place to be!!!The cottages were impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. Rustic luxury perfection! I couldn’t believe how spacious they were. You could easily fit three families there. We loved grabbing fresh produce every morning from their farm and making our own breakfast. You get fresh eggs, milk, beef, pork, lamb, vegetables every day to cook/barbecue at your own cottage. S’mores by the campfire every night were of course my kids favorite. My kids absolutely loved spending time with the farm animals. They even did farm chores in the morning picking the eggs from the chicken coop and feeding the animals. I mean wow, what a truly amazing experience that was!The private beach was beautiful. We did boating, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding the list goes on and on. We have three boys ages 15, 6 and 4 and everyone could find something they could enjoy. We went on beautiful hikes that are set only few minutes away. The waterfall hike was absolutely breathtaking! The views were magnificent, overlooking the spectacular Lake Champlain. The wine tour and tasting was top-notch and introduced some unbelievably beautiful-tasting wines from upstate NY.The staff was incredible top to bottom. I can not say enough about Mellisa. She communicated with us several times prior to arrival, so the check-in process was smooth sailing. She absolutely went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She was always available to answer any questions we had.As for the rest of the crew….absolutely incredible!!! Courteous, prompt, and pristine. The highlight of the week was undoubtedly the Saturday evening 5-course dinner. You will not get a better experience anywhere!!! All I can say is that we can not wait to go back!

Our family of five stayed at Rolling Hills in August 2021 and had an amazing time. The week started off with the scrumptious five-course chef dinner that included delicious food and excellent wine pairing. The rest of our time was spent exploring the area and enjoying the many activities offered on site. The kids loved spending time with the farm animals and visiting the greenhouse and vegetable garden. The private beach is delightful and includes everything needed for fun on the lake including kayaking, fishing, etc. The townhouses are spacious, thoughtfully organized and equipped with all the necessary amenities. We enjoyed cooking and grilling the fresh produce and meats grown locally and delivered daily. All staff members were very pleasant and helpful and contributed to our enjoyable stay. Highly recommended!

What an experience! Our family of five had an incredible time at Rolling Hills Farm. Amazing facilities, a beautiful setting on Lake Champlain and a staff that is absolutely world class (and incredibly friendly). The list of activities on the property and nearby was endless - boating, fishing, white water rafting, zip lining, hiking, biking, golf, and a working farm where you can help with chores. We were never bored! All of this in a beautiful setting right on the lake with the mountains in the background. In addition to all of the activities, we were treated to amazing farm fresh food (our favorites were the eggs and milk, delicious morning pastries and the huge farm to table feast every Saturday night), wine, fire pits at night, and sunsets. Aside from all of the available activities and the setting, the staff really make Rolling Hills the experience it is. Everyone was exceedingly helpful, friendly, and always went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. If you are looking for an idyllic setting where there are endless activities, great accommodations, and an amazing staff, Rolling Hills is a must visit and we hope to return soon.
