Alex's Bar and Grille is a fantastic restaurant! The service is always outstanding. I've been coming here for at least a decade. Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone! Get the Chicken martini and penne vodka with chicken cutlet, you will be in for a treat! Kudos to Alex and staff!
I have eaten here many times. Food is always fresh and cooked with care. Fresh Fish, oversized steaks and chops, artisanal specials and timeless Italian classics. Alex’s is a must try. Whether it is a lively bar ambience or a warm cozy dining room. Alex’s has it all. I simply love this place!

Alex’s Bar & Grille in White Plains proved itself to be a dining destination where exceptional food, impeccable service, and thoughtful beverage pairings come together in harmony. My visit on September 24, 2025, was one for the books—an evening that beautifully blended classic fine dining with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, meriting a full five stars.
The evening began with the Lump Crab Meat Cocktail, a dish that set the tone with its elegance and freshness. The crab was tender, sweet, and perfectly chilled, enhanced only by a delicate touch of seasoning. It was a refined starter that celebrated the purity of the ingredient, leaving the palate refreshed and eager for the courses to come.
For the entrées, both selections showcased the kitchen’s range and finesse. The Surf and Turf was indulgent perfection—an expertly cooked steak with a satisfying sear, paired seamlessly with buttery, rich seafood. Every bite offered a balance of texture and flavor that spoke to precision and skill. On the lighter side, the Lemon Sole Marechiara was a triumph of coastal flavors. The delicate sole carried the brightness of lemon, while clams, mussels, and calamari brought a briny depth that was both rustic and refined. The sauce tied everything together with a lively citrus accent, making each forkful sing with freshness.
Elevating the dining experience even further were the thoughtfully chosen wines. The Tapestry by BV was a masterful companion to the meal, its bold structure and complex notes of dark fruit, spice, and oak complementing the richness of the Surf and Turf while standing up beautifully to the seafood’s savory nuances. To close the evening, a glass of 20-year Taylor Port offered a lush, velvety finish. Its notes of dried fruit, caramel, and subtle nuttiness lingered on the palate, creating a decadent finale that felt both luxurious and comforting.
Yet, what truly distinguishes Alex’s Bar & Grille is its service. The staff anticipated needs with grace and attentiveness, offering wine pairings that enhanced the meal and timing each course to perfection. Their genuine hospitality made the experience not just a dinner, but an occasion.
From start to finish, Alex’s Bar & Grille delivered an unforgettable evening, seamlessly weaving together fine cuisine, excellent wines, and standout service. It is the kind of establishment that makes a diner feel valued, and the kind of meal that lingers in memory long after the last sip of port.

I was hesitant to try this place since it’s in kind of a random place but after my mechanic recommended, it I gave it a try. Now it’s our go to date night spot for a nice dinner. Cloth napkins white tablecloth vibe but you feel welcomed no matter what the occasion or dress. Bar area is perfect for a more casual vibe. Even came to dinner here with two toddlers once and it was easy, all the waiters were great with the kids. Highly recommend this restaurant - the food is always so delicious and the drinks are great. I usually order the seafood dishes, my husband likes the homemade pastas and veal.

Went for the first time last night. The service was prompt, waiter was professional and pleasant and present when needed. Our food was excellent with ample portions. They had all the classic Italian dishes and many others. Will definitely be returning soon.

Went for dinner on a Friday night and needed reservations but was able to make them 1 hour prior. Place was packed. White tablecloth’s and the usual upscale Italian restaurant.
Don’t be fooled that it’s a “bar and grill” - it definitely IS NOT. It’s an old school Italian restaurant that could use some interior and exterior updates.
Had baked clams, penne vodka and veal - smaller portions than I’m used to but the price was great. $75 for two people (before tip) so definitely reasonably priced for an Italian joint.
Waiter wasn’t that attentive and smelled of cigarettes. It’s a very locals only place where most tables were catered to and knew waiters by name. As newbies, we weren’t as welcomed.
Would I come again? Maybe - if seated in a different area to try something else on the menu
