I found my little hidden gem (it's a spot you can easily overlook) ...After 8 years of living in Manhattan with overpriced Mexican food... it's great that I found casa maya. I'm a bit shocked at the low rating as this place has real authentic Mexican food... and the portions are very generous. I got the carne asada which I can either eat for lunch and dinner or share a plate with a friend. The seat on the steak is perfect. The guacamole is fresh and the salsas (green and red) were the perfect amount of heat/acid that I needed. I can see this place being my new usual spot for good cheap Mexican food.

I don't review much, but this place is criminally underrated, so I feel like I should do my part about that. It's not a 5 star restaurant, so don't expect that. But it's a nice family run place that has great food at a great price. No BS, just cheap, delicious food.

I really have a soft spot for diamonds in the rough and Maya so far, has won me over. This is such an awesome, no-frills, hole-in-the-wall Mexican spot. I've tried their Shrimp and Fish Tacos- and both meals have been replete with seafood. I decided on a follow-up piece just to highlight how delicious these Tacos are- in comparison to a so-called popular Mexican restaurant literally- a street light away. And because my last two orders (again) have been banging. The odds of finding Casa Maya- are slim- because it's located off Central Ave. I'm still sticking to a 4. Just wish their 'Agua Frescas' though would taste....fresh. My Tamarind juice was prepared in a blender and tasted super sweet, minus that true Tamarind flavor. I'll ditch those and go for a Jarritos instead. Tried their Tacos, now I'm ready for their entrees. By the way, Maya is teeny in size... but they're so big on flavor. Please Sweet Jesus....let Casa Maya stay the way it is.

First time eating there. The food I ordered was fresh and tasty. I work right up the street from this spot and I wanted to try it out because I love Mexican food. I am glad I had the time to go in and try it out. I will try it again, that way I can give it a good chance to impress me.

Horrible! Not only did they over charge us ... the food and service was horrible ! I get it ... I'm from a family who owns their own business so I know how this works ! But to laugh on the phone when we say you forgot an order is DISRESPECTFul! They always have a cat there too! Wonder why !!! Their chilaquiles were horrible not even real Mexican food! And I'm Mexican myself ! Don't go here if you want real authentic food ! Plenty of other place on central avenue !
