After years of eating at all the local spots (Bamboo Garden, Peking, and New Great Wall) I can honestly say this is the BEST Chinese food I’ve had in White Plains. The extra drive is absolutely worth it. Portions are “old school” big, prices run about $2 to $3 less than other places, and they always throw in something extra for free. The egg rolls taste just like the ones you remember as a kid, and the boneless spare ribs were superb (IMO). My wife, who usually gets headaches when MSG is used, had no issues here, which says a lot. Just a heads up that it’s cash only and they don’t deliver, but honestly, that’s no big deal when you can eat this well without it costing an arm and a leg!

Amazing food. Worth the fact that they don’t deliver and only take cash. Good and hard working ppl too.

I grew up coming here and I hadn’t been in years. I ordered the cashew chicken and white rice and all of my food was sour. It smelled horrible and tasted like it had gone bad. So disappointing

Ordered a veggie chow mein; be wary it’s not noodles, but actually stir fried veggies and cabbage. I was upset at first until I tasted it and was utterly impressed. Delicious but not what I expected. Definitely will go back.
The food was OK. The first time I tried this restaurant, the food was very good. The subsequent visits weren't as great. The rice tasted stale and the food lacked flavor

To be honest, I'm not sure of the history of the establishment. I do know that my family has ordered from them since the early 1980s.
The current owners seem passionate yet the days & hours that they are opened are inconvenient at best.
I appreciate the cuisine but it seems like they are on a different schedule if you are able to understand that.
I probably sound like an asshole but the specific hours and 3 days closed are suspect.
Are they so proficient that they can operate that way and consistently be profitable?
I hesitated to post this because of repercussions but I am so frustrated because everytime I call to order, they seem to be closed.
Apologies if I offend...
