After years of eating at all the local spots (Bamboo Garden, Peking, and New Great Wall) I can honestly say this is the BEST Chinese food I’ve had in White Plains. The extra drive is absolutely worth it. Portions are “old school” big, prices run about $2 to $3 less than other places, and they always throw in something extra for free. The egg rolls taste just like the ones you remember as a kid, and the boneless spare ribs were superb (IMO). My wife, who usually gets headaches...
Ordered a veggie chow mein; be wary it’s not noodles, but actually stir fried veggies and cabbage. I was upset at first until I tasted it and was utterly impressed. Delicious but not what I expected. Definitely will go back.
To be honest, I'm not sure of the history of the establishment. I do know that my family has ordered from them since the early 1980s.
The current owners seem passionate yet the days & hours that they are opened are inconvenient at best.
I appreciate the cuisine but it seems like they are on a different schedule if you are able to understand that.
