The Original Pancake House

The rumors are all true: that apple pancake is a thing to behold. After you be-hold it you should be eating it because it is very delicious. Let it cool off, though, it'll hit your table at about 280°C. I'm from the South and they have the best biscuits I've eaten in Westchester so far. My wife's omelette was incredible too. We will be back for sure despite the 25 min drive from where we live in Yonkers.

We visited on a Wednesday at around noon. There was no one at the hostess station, so we stood around for a while, waiting. When someone arrived, they weren’t very welcoming.

Once we were seated, it took around 10 minutes before a server arrived to take our order (I should note that the restaurant wasn’t terribly busy). Once we received our food, it was quite good. Orange juice was fresh, coffee was tasty. I ordered blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup and that was outstanding. The size of the pancakes were rather small. I also ordered biscuits with sausage gravy, and that was underwhelming. The gravy was lacking in seasoning.

Restrooms were clean and well-appointed.

Overall, the meal was satisfying and the food was tasty. If you come here, be prepared to wait.

I honestly can’t believe I wasted my time coming here. After all the great reviews I heard about this place and as soon as I get there they decided to look at me and my boyfriend like we’re crazy. No greeting no smile no nothing. Today, upon entry two young Hispanic woman did not greet us and it’s almost as if we felt we were being judged. We had to ask for a table and then when she said we have no booths she just stared at us with complete silence. Gross behavior…I normally don’t write reviews like this but I had to say something. Be warned customer service is not good….pity I really wanted to try the food.

As soon as entering, there was an unpleasant service. No greeters, two workers in black stood by the front register. I asked for a table for 2 but told me to hold on for a second. Both workers stood quiet. No host available in the front. I didn’t receive a friendly vibe, no smiles, no greeting. I ended just walking out.

Classic American breakfast at its best. The coffee here is good, strong and without frills, but you come here for the giant fluffy Apple Pancakes and omelets. Cozy and homey.

It’s okay . Expensive compared to I hop. The staff was very freindly . The hot chocolate was delicious,the pancakes were a 7 out of 10. Eggs were good but runny.

Takeout customers are treated like second class citizens! All menu prices are inflated for takeout (which is not uncommon due to service fees from the online ordering provider), but what upsets me is that the higher price is applicable even if you call your order in and pay at the counter! The manager gave me a one time discount and told me the higher price is due to takeout packaging. I doubt they charge dine in customers for takeout packaging. Please avoid this restaurant for takeout! You are being ripped off!

If you want a good friendly local pancake and breakfast place, this is it. The pancakes are significantly better than you get in the average dinner. I think they scratch make the batter.

TLDR: good value and huge portions, plus tasty food to boot!

I ordered the German apple pancake and did not expect the size of the pancake! It was almost two of my hands put together and had a nice glaze over the top , very delicious! The side of corned beef hash came out perfectly crispy and crusty on the outside and the fresh orange juice was so sweet, I thoroughly enjoyed all the food.

Sourdough pancakes are delicious. Plenty of options on the menu from all tastes and diverse availability of gluten free options, too. This was the second visit. Probably won't be the last.

Great neighborhood joint with good prices, big portions and a mostly friendly staff. We come here regularly and have not had a bad experience. Good coffee too!
