Our visit to Red Horse - during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week - was very pleasant, especially because of the staff from greeting to exit. The food was very good - not stellar - but very innovative and tasty. But the attention that we were showed by the greeters, server Gabriel, the maitre d'House and others was just perfect. We felt very special and I look forward to returning, primarily because of that.
Mediocre dining experience. The ambience is upscale, they kept the same design as BLT Steak, which we loved. We were seated in an uncomfortable high top even though they had plenty of empty low top tables. The waitress was poorly trained, she said the menu was new, and she was not familiar with the dishes. As a result, I was unable to eat the duck, it was too rare, after she had assured us it was duck confit. We could not eat the fries which were drenched in chili oil, probably a good idea to give people a choice for plain fries which we only found out after the fact. The steak was good, but the sides are very strange. There are better options in the area. We used valet parking and it took 15 minutes for us to get our car.
Mature crowd- perfect for a date night or girls night or the fellas hanging out! Drinks are amazing- “Sex at the Stable” best drink!!! Love the bread- very friendly server staff- love the decor and the food was amazing! Will be returning for dim sum brunch on Sundays!
Been there a few times and always very pleased. Service is outstanding and the Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Shout out to Stephanie our server. She was the best. The only negative is that the so called restaurant week 3 course deal was so limited. The items that were more enticing all had up an charge. That's why I never like restaurant week deals anywhere, but thought we'd give it a try
We have been here several times. The portions this time were smaller and not quite as good as in the past (though still very good).
My friend and I were there for Restaurant Week. Unfortunately, the food we most enjoyed were the add-ons of the popovers and the bacon. The main issue was the service. Our server was friendly but perhaps the restaurant was understaffed because our service was super slow. It took forever between courses—in fact, our meal ran almost two and a half hours. Also, for an upscale restaurant, the service felt unrefined and perhaps inexperienced (things like our table not being wiped down before dessert, so the food and spoons were put on a dirty table). Sadly, it was a disappointing evening.
We took our daughter, son in law and little grandson (20 months) for dinner on Saturday evening. The restaurant was very busy. We were treated like royalty including our little grandson. From the kind gentleman who appeared to be the Manager and seated us, to our server and the assistants, the service, food and ambiance was second to none. It was very special to see how they embraced having the toddler with us; something many restaurants frown on. A great experience overall and a great restaurant. Kudos to the entire team. Certainly our go to when we come in to visit our children and grandson.
We went during restaurant week and despite it being very busy we had exceptional service and a delicious dinner. Can't wait to come back.
Overall, I enjoyed this restaurant. Our waitress was lovely and attentive. My dishes were yummy, but two of my friends were a little disappointed with the way their meat was cooked. Also, there was a mix up with two of the side dishes not coming out with one meal. I would still recommend this restaurant, and do plan on returning for brunch in December.
My wife thought her salmon was ok, nothing special. She liked her salad. My short ribs was delicious. My lobster pot stickers looked more like a wonton (minor point). Ice cream sundae and key lime pie was delicious. Good service.
Restaurantji Recommends
The steak is expensive but so worth it!! the dry aged rib eye was the best, very very good. sides were good, the fries a nice variance on the loaded fries. Highly recommend.
My daughter and I had a fantastic meal at Red Horse. The food was delicious and creative and the wait staff was solicitous and professional. Our main server, Sergio was knowledgeable and friendly and very helpful with the menu and our dietary needs. We very much look forward to returning!
Thhis was a celebration for a friend with a group 7. Great food and great service for happy hour and half price sushi. Super great food and value!
Steak wasn't great given the cost. Also was upsold to a deal that wasn't applied to my bill, but it was rectified once I pointed it out.
The food was good but the dessert was awesome!!! the drink menu is delicious! I will come back for the dessert!
