Beautiful Christmas Eve dinner enjoyed by me and my family. We loved the Nona's meatballs, fried Calamari, Margherita pizza and Bruschetta as our appetizers. I loved the arugula salad with diced tomatoes, cheese and grilled chicken . The service was an amazing and the staff were so nice and professional.
My husbands risotto was very good, for me the eggplant parm seemed to have been precooked and perhaps frozen. The cheese both in between the layers and on top were hard and not melted. I needed to knife through every bite. Our two guests said their meal was fine. Appetizers seemed better than the entree. My biggest disappointment is that even though they acknowledged I had a nut and pepper allergy in the beginning, they brought the appetizers to the table and then said everything had pepper in it. Then said do you want a burrata.....ok whats my choice at that point? We really didn't want an extra appetizer. We should have been informed prior to ordering what was pre-made and what could be made to order....what could or could not come to the table without pepper. If you acknowledge the allergy....why bring it to the table?? It was very quiet in the restaurant at 3:00 pm it wasn't like it was busy and something fell through the cracks. Needless to say, I ate things I should not have because I was hungry, and left feeling ill.
Our food took forever to come out and it was a business lunch, when expediency is important. The restaurant was not full at all. Our server ignored us for the most part. I asked her for another drink and she did a few other things like setting up another table, etc. before preparing my Diet Coke like she couldn't care to get the drink to me even though it's been a while since my glass was empty since she hasn't checked in with us in a while. She also ignored us when I asked for the check. We had to ask the other server. She also got one of our orders wrong. So my colleague had to wait for his correct order while everyone else was eating. I shared my pizza with him and ended up taking his home.
The food was delicious! I am a vegetarian with celiac, so I sometimes struggle when dining out, but I had many options here and everything from yummy - from apps to dessert!
My friend and I ordered our food at the same time however my food came out after approximately 15 minutes after her food was delivered to the table. I had to ask the waitress about the food. I had ravioli with spinach and ricotta and it was okay. Service was okay and I had to try to get the waitress attention a number of times and the restaurant was not even crowded. It is not a restaurant that I would recommend or return to.
Service was so inattentive it ruined the meal. Also, why do they add ingredients to dishes that were not on the menu!?!?
Swung by here for a light lunch of pizza and bruschetta. Absolutely incredible quality of food. Make sure to add mozzarella to the bruschetta, really elevates the dish. Excited to come back.

Excellent service , lots of menu options , good food and very reasonable. Exactly what we wanted pre- performance .
The last time we ate here two years ago it was an unrewarding experience. Glad to say yesterday's was much, much better experience. The food was very good and served in a timely manner. There was six of us and all got exactly what we ordered. The waitress was excellent, making sure we were enjoying our meals. The price was very reasonable. I thought I was taking a risk going back but was genuinely impressed with the restaurant and the meal.
Valentina was amazing

I reserved Serafina for “brunch” on OpenTable. My reservation was made for 11:30am on a Saturday, and when we got to the restaurant, we were told that they don’t “open” until noon. I thought it was odd in the beginning because if the restaurant wasn’t open until noon why would you open a spot on Open Table? But I brushed it off because at least we were seated.
I was there for brunch with a group of girls, however, when we attempted to order, we were told that they were NO LONGER OFFERING THEIR BRUNCH MENU which at that point was still on their website! Our hostess said she could ask the kitchen if they have the ingredients and could make the brunch menu items. I wanted something super simple like their steak and eggs, and my friend had wanted the truffle omelette. We were both told that the kitchen could not make those dishes and that we only had the lunch menu to choose from.
When we finally got our order in, it took a while before the food came out, and from that moment on, that was the LAST time we saw our hostess. The restaurant was not busy at all. We were seated by the kitchen, and around the corner of the restaurant we could only see ONE other table. It was IMPOSSIBLE to get the attention of any serving staff. A table that sat down beside us later on, had to get up TWICE to go hunt down a serving staff to place their order and to see if they could come and collect the plates. We had to call for a server TWICE before we got someone to bring us the check.
The worst of it all? FLIES!!! my friends and I were there for about 3 hours during which we were ATTACKED by flies zipping around us, our food and plates, and we were all constantly swatting them out of our faces and hair. It was AWFUL.
I’ve been to Serafina a bunch of times in NYC, and have never had a more miserable experience. I hope management will take a serious hard look at the restaurant’s operations and hygiene, because this was not an enjoyable dining experience.
