I was here a little over a year ago to get a few platters to go for a party. Sushi and sashimi were fine then. This time, I had a hankering for sashimi and was in the area. It was really bad. Rice was seasoned unevenly. Fish, especially tuna, had lots of inedible cartilage that I had to spit out. Price with tax and tip was $29 - the same as a full service sit down restaurant. Can’t recommend and won’t return.
Sushi Tatsu is a cozy eatery conveniently located next to Daido Market, a Japanese neighborhood supermarket. It features two small two-person tables and several high seats facing the window, making it a simple yet welcoming spot. Municipal pay parking is available nearby, adding to its accessibility.
The menu focuses on home-style cooking. I tried the shrimp udon, which had a clear, classic broth—nothing extraordinary, but comforting nonetheless. The service was excellent—warm and attentive, perfect for lifting your spirits on a cold winter day.
Their sushi and sashimi options are reasonably priced and include classics like tuna and salmon. The tuna roll was particularly noteworthy, with perfectly pressed rice. If you're in the area and looking for a warm, affordable meal, Sushi Tatsu is a great option to consider.
Sushi Tatsu used to be a hidden gem located in hole in the wall next to Daido. It is under new management and has gone downhill in a serious way.
My boy and I just ate the Sushi Sashimi tray (most expensive thing on the menu) eat-in, and it was served in a to-go tray and resembled gas station sushi. My son immediate became ill, and I have a sensitive stomach shortly after consuming. Suspect fish was: Tuna, Salmon and Snapper. None looked fresh, but I paid nearly $30 for it, so we ate it.
Very low quality in comparison to what it 'used to be' under previous management. High prices do not justify the low level quality of this sushi. Avoid at all cost.

Quick and easy sushi. Shop at the Daido Mart before or after and it’s a win win. Traditional sushi and udon.
Vegetarian options: Almost all sushi rolls can be customized for vegetarians
Parking: White Plains parking meters
Kid-friendliness: I took my 9 year old son, we sat at the bar and had a great time watching out the window while eating our yummy sushi.

Worst sushi I have had in a long time. I felt sick after a few bites and could not believe they would serve fish that smells this

This venerable sushi establishment has proven itself to be a veritable culinary gem. The flavors that danced upon my palate as I savored their curry and chicken were nothing short of extraordinary. As someone unaccustomed to such delights from a Japanese kitchen, I found my expectations not only met but significantly surpassed. Their portions are bountiful, and the atmosphere exudes a tranquil and harmonious aura. I shall make it a point to grace this establishment with my presence on a more frequent basis.

Restaurantji Recommends
I want to support local business and this restaurant, being next to Daido (a wonderful Japanese grocery store) exudes vibes of a small, traditional Japanese joint. It is very unfortunate that the store is now mended by a rude male cashier, who has the WORST demeanor. Just rude and mean in all ways - even to regular customers. Not sure if he took over this sushi joint, it was originally owned by an elderly Japanese man (who’s very kind and always smile). Too bad the quality of food has declined tremendously, the sushi they give now is half the size. Will NOT recommend and visit again.

Friendly staff but the sushi platter I ordered was below average. The fish was not fresh, the eel nigiri and tempura roll cuts lacked sauce, and the sushi rice was of poor texture and lacking flavor. Koko Sushi in Scarsdale is better value sushi but they were unfortunately not taking orders for Christmas day pickup this year.

Extraordinary food and well hospitality
Easy online ordering and I loved the beautiful, fresh vegetable rolls. Nice place and welcoming, friendly service. I will be back!
