Busy, friendly place to eat. Menu has something for everyone. Generous portions. Would definitely go back.

Eagle House has some great food and there is always something that hits the spot. Their waitstaff is pleasant and the atmosphere is quaint. There is a great little deck out back, that took me some time to figure out was there, but is great for enjoying the warm weather. Everything to date that we've had (chicken finger mac n cheese, burgers, salads, etc.) always comes out great and is never a let down.

Disappointed to give 1 - I've been coming here for over 25 years. I've noticed over the years the menu dwindle, but most of my faves are still on the menu, so okay. My last 2 experiences have me questioning if I had "off" experiences or if this is now the norm. I came with a group and I got my old faithful entree that I swoon over. I don't even want to say what is was, bc it's normally delicious and I don't want to ruin a great thing if it was a fluke. It was goopy and soupy and not at all the standard. They replaced it with something else upon my question, thumbs up to the waitress . BUT... my latest visit was less than remarkable and certainly not the Eagle House standard. I called in advance to make a reservation- no reservations for the patio. Ugh. Okay ... hostess not super hospitable, but I dismissed it as her possibly being busy. I'm a glass half full person. :) When I say writing this negative review is hard for me ... IT IS. But necessary unfortunately. I ordered the open turkey on bread with pan gravy. I specifically asked our server if it was turkey breast. She looked a little confused - I clarified white meat or dark meat. She replied "Oh, it's white." I asked for extra cranberry that they had coming on the side. The sandwich was pretty gummy ... it had no skin however the entire edge of the turkey was dark brown... is this deli meat?! It was sliced thin and very "tender" ... I saw no typical grain in the meat like you would when it's roasted turkey. I was turned off by the texture. The cranberry sauce came in little 1oz plastic containers with lids... please save the $, save the plastic.. and just dollop it on the plate. I get that cup at a fast food place where I'm expecting to see it. We didn't see much of our waitress, but to be honest you could see her running several tables. She wasn't slacking. Enough time went by that it was too late to correct and leave my party watching me eat. I lifted up the turkey to at least have the bread ... it was this semi torn piece of bread "nub"... not even a whole piece of fluffy white bread? Come on Eagle House - we love you. This was a huge miss. I hope it's not the standard fare. :(

This was the worst meal I have ever had there. O ordered the hot Turkey sandwich and ordered mashed potatoes. Well I asked if it was real Turkey and I received deli Turkey. That night they had twice baked potatoes and that is what my mashed potatoes tasted like. This was the worst meal

This restaurant goes above and beyond in every single way. They have an amazing bar, it's beautiful wood, stools, bowls with snack mix for people to munch on, and an amazing list of wines, beers and liquor. I've been here several times and each bartender has their own way of making drinks, but they are all delicious and I've never had an issue. You can order food to eat at the bar, or you can be seated in different parts of the restaurant. They have rooms upstairs for larger parties, and one of the side rooms can also be blocked off. It's not very bright in the restaurant, so some people with visual impairments may have some issues. My friend's brother is visually impaired and it was a little difficult for him to see in the restaurant. The parking lot is a bit of a bear. If you don't get their early, you may find yourself having to park quite a ways away. If you're entering the restaurant from the parking lot, they have a lot of stairs. There is a patio in the back that you can ask to eat out on when they have it set-up and the weather is nice. Friends and I recently had a get together and were able to use one of the upstairs rooms. Our server was incredibly attentive, the tables were set-up so that everyone could see and visit with each other, water glasses filled, the room was nice and was not cramped, and it was nice to be able to have windows open and the fresh air blowing in. Downstairs, the booths are the old-fashioned wood, and very spacious. They have tables as well, but I feel like the way the booths are designed, it adds a little more privacy. This restaurant has a ton of great items on the menu. I've ordered their fish fry before and it's HUGE! We've ordered several different appetizers, my favorite being the artichokes! Their chicken pot pie is HANDS DOWN the best thing on the menu. The restaurant fills up quite quickly, so it's best to call and make a reservation in advance.

We made reservations for a Saturday night and were given the worst table in the place. It was jammed up against a pole and was very uncomfortable. We ordered a bottle of wine which was good but the dinner was unappetizing. I had the shrimp bisque soup which was tasty and the rolls were fresh and soft. That is the only reason I am giving 2 stars. The fish fry dinner was awful. It had not flavor at all and the skin was still attached which made it very unappetizing. The coleslaw was vinegar on shredded cabbage. I left most of my meal untouched and it was cleared away with no questions asked about why my plate was still full. My husband's steak was ok he said but the sauce left him feeling like a little underwhelmed. We tried it and learned our lesson. If we are going to spend that kind of money on dinner it better be way better than this place.

Remarkable history and great food at a very reasonable cost.

Another visit to the area and the food was quite good. Pleasant relaxed atmosphere and a good menu selection. Only slight downside is that this is a place with regulars and sometimes the wait staff gets a touch to chatty with them as you wait for something.

Best French onion soup I ever had. I had the banana pepper chicken and my husband had a huge chicken pot pie. Service was superb and the colonial atmosphere was very inviting. Casual dress was just our speed and we didn't need reservations. Headed back to Florida tomorrow but we'll definitely be back later this year. Thanks

The food was very good at the Eagle House so I give it three stars, but I did have some frustrations with my experience there. Though it was some time ago I had gone there for my birthday at the recommendation of someone (who then joined me). Arriving earlier in the evening, we were seated right away and barely anyone was there. Because the restaurant was so empty, the service we received should have been top notch however it not only lacked severely, but I had to physically go track down someone too as our waitress was nowhere to be found, nor was a bartender on at that time. I would have purchased more beers for our table had we been given the opportunity. The waitress, once she had learned that I was searching for her but found someone else, came over minutes later to hurriedly collect our payment and was not friendly. Situations like these I really do try to remember that sometimes it's just not the finest moment you're catching someone in so I would definitely try the Eagle House again and give it another shot. I do think that it could use a serious facelift in decor.

Wonderful place. Love the fish fry! Do not hesitate on a Friday to go here and eat-- just delicious. We love the outside patio. It's just beautiful and the local acoustic music makes for an enjoyable evening.

Would have given 3 1/2 stars if possible. We went for a fish fry and were able to sit at the bar! Ordered a pint of beer and enjoyed the bar crowd. We thought the beer selection was very good. My wife and I both ordered the clam chowder and the haddock with bruschetta and green beans. We both enjoyed our entree. The clam chowder was good but needed some more seasoning. The fish was a little over cooked but very flavorful! The service was very good and friendly. We'll be back !

I came here yesterday for lunch with 4 of my coworkers. It was great! I had the pot pie, which was delicious. Other things ordered were French onion soups, sandwiches, greek salad, and banana peppers. Everyone said their food was great. Our server was friendly as well. I loved the old school décor and feel of the place, it felt nostalgic to me. I can't wait to go back again for dinner. Their menu looked awesome and the dessert tray that I passed on the way out looked delicious.
